Based on laser ranging technology plays an important role in lunar exploration project and broad application prospects in all walks of life,through analyzing the principle of laser ranging,the paper chooses the pulsed laser ranging. And then according to the low precision of the pulsed laser ranging,self- triggering pulsed laser ranging is proposed. Self-triggering pulsed laser ranging can solve the problem of multiple measurements in the traditional laser ranging technique. In addition,in order to further improve the ranging accuracy,we choose high precision time interval measurement chip TDC-GP21. On the basis of them accordingly,self- triggering pulsed laser ranging system is designed,mainly including the self- triggering unit,the laser transmitting unit,the laser receiving unit and the time interval measurement unit.The thesis carries on the elaboration from two aspects. Firstly,through fully research on the whole structure of laser ranging system,the final plan is determined according to design requirements.And then the reasonable laser transmitting and receiving devices is choosed. Each unit circuit is analyzed and designed,and according to the circuit diagram conduct simulation experiments to determine the feasibility of the ranging system circuit. At the same time,the paper makes the TDC-GP21 hardware circuit board and chooses STC89C58RD+ as the master control chip.Secondly,the software is design,including the main control chip microcontroller programming and debugging,a serial port programming and debugging,PC software development,etc.The design scheme combines with the self- triggering method and TDC-GP21 high-precision time interval measurement chip to improve the ranging accuracy,and carries on the experiment which the traditional measuring method and the trigger control experiment of the self-triggering measuring method. Through statistical analysis of experimental data,the thesis proves that the self-triggering measuring method can improve the precision of ranging.
