Lens aligning is a technology for improving imaging quality of lens which can obtain the imaging parameters of tested lens by using image processing technology, then acquires features of the parameters via image understanding and judging. Finally, according to the features, the position of the sensitive lens element is adjusted to form the best imaging conditions.Automatic digital aligning machine applies digital image processing technology and motion control technology to realize the automation of lens assembly. The characteristics of high efficiency and less human disturbance have been significantly important for promoting quality control and improving production efficiency.We studied several critical technologies regarding technology request,overall plan, hardware and software design, image quality evaluation and aligning algorithm in this paper. The mainframe of this paper carried out as follows:Firstly, we analyzed the assembly condition, critical technology and characteristic of HD lens, and researched the algorithm of image matching, image quality evaluation and curve fitting etc., paved the way for aligning machine design.Secondly, we analyzed the functions of traditional aligning, performance, degree of automation and humanity, and proposed a scheme of HD digital automated aligning design concept. At the same time, we analyzed and compared the projection aligning, wave surface aligning and digital aligning technology with improved aligning plan proposed.The new proposal improved the aligning efficiency, minimize the impact from image quality evaluation to the aligning and significantly remove the impact from operators to the aligning performance.Thirdly, the automated digital aligning process was developed by selecting the most typical lens, which has multi acquisition interface, enhance the aligning machine's compatibility. The system has applied chart with even brightness and sharpness for more accurate picture evaluation. The system also selected motion platform & controllers with high accuracy and optimized the aligning structure and layout efficiency.Fourthly, we completed the software design for the whole system, and described the principles of image quality evaluation & mathematical model, and provided Gaussian Curve and Polynomial Simulation, and compared with different simulation chart. Eventually we provided process flow and detail codes for software design.Lastly, experiments will be done on the HD Lens digital aligning machine and the results show that the design can meet the requirements and can achieve aligning target quickly and accurately.The results of this paper can be applied not only for regular lens, but also for large FOV lens, high megapixel lens, etc. with reasonable cost.
