With the rapid development of high and new technology, it is essential for various devices which are becoming more and more automatic intelligent, large-scale and complexity in the social productivity. It is of great significance for improving the efficiency of equipment maintenance, reducing and finding fault risks early and avoiding all kinds of accidents to monitor the devices in real time and timely understand the running status. The speedy development of virtual instrument technology in recent years has provided a very important platform for condition monitoring.This paper comprehensively introduced the construction technology of software and hardware of equipment condition monitoring system based virtual instrument combined with the development of intelligent fire inspection and control system, and applied to actual engineering. These following works have been mainly done:(1)The purpose and meaning of equipment condition monitoring and development of domestic and foreign were introduced, in addition, the virtual instrument technology also included.(2)The research of the system design framework. The main works are system requirement analysis and the design of system gross structure, at the same time, it laid the foundation for the next design of software and hardware because of the technical analysis aimed at system hardware and software.(3)The design of the system hardware platform. Combined with the actual requirements of the project, not only determined the hardware structure of the monitoring system, but also selected the selection and configuration of IPC(Industrial Personal Computer) sensors and DAQ Card.(4)The design of the system software platform. It discussed the basic function about the system login, data acquisition, data management, condition monitoring and data analysis etc and how to achieve it. The design of database also was introduced.(5)The implementation and application of state monitoring system. We realized the condition monitoring about such as fire pump, fire water system and water tank of the fire extinguishing system in the design of fire water pipe network monitoring system based on virtual instrument, and achieved the real time data acquisition of device parameters such as vibration pressure temperature and liquid level, it owns powerful features contains of data management, real-time monitoring and data analysis.
