The theory of Q-switch and nonlinear frequency conversion has been studied in this paper and the situation of 355 nm UV laser output has been analyzed both at home and abroad. A peak power fundamental frequency light output with narrow pulse width has been obtained. Using LD side pumped Nd: YAG crystal and BBO crystals electro-optic Q switch. A 355 nm UV laser output has been obtained using outside the cavity of LBO crystal frequency doubling, outside the cavity LBO crystal third Harmonic Generation. To improve the efficiency of frequency doubling conversion, an expanded beam collimation system has been used to narrow the fundamental frequency divergence angle, and then the fundamental light has been focused into the frequency doubling crystal. To improve the third Harmonic Generation conversion efficiency, a folded cavity structure has been used to make the mixing light through the LBO crystal secondary. The main contents of this dissertation are generalized as follows?The LD side pumped Nd: YAG crystal electro-optic Q fundamental frequency light has been experimented. The optimum coupling transmittance of the resonator output mirror was selected through the experiment; Thermal birefringence effect and polarization effect of the laser crystal on the thermal effect is analyzed; And the BBO crystal electro-optic tuning Q half-wave voltage and pressure type electro-optical modulation Q system of relative position for the influence of the fundamental frequency light output characteristics is analyzed; Finally the two groups of different light power, pulse width, beam quality of 1064- nm fundamental frequency light output have been got.? 532 nm green light output has been obtained using LBO crystal outside cavity frequency doubling?type Angle phase matching. The difference between the Angle phase matching and temperature phase matching are analyzed detail. The effect of the fundamental light beam quality for frequency doubling conversion efficiency and third Harmonic Generation conversion efficiency has analyzed, On the basis of the analysis, an expanded beam collimation system has used to optimization the green light experiment, finally the average power of 4.434 W, frequency doubling conversion efficiency of 43% 532 nm green light output have been got.? The outside cavity third Harmonic Generation have been experimented using LBO crystal? type Angle phase matching, and 355 nm UV light output has obtained. The effect of the Q parameter for 355 nm UV light output power has been studied, the influence of the peak power for output power of 355 nm UV light. To get the influence of the peak power for the frequency conversion efficiency,Two groups of experiments have been experimented under the condition of invariable beam quality, beam waist length and the beam waist radius; Beam quality change, the change of the peak power density and coherence length of light beam quality and the effect. With this result, To optimize the experiment,A folded double concave cavity structure was carried out, finally, A 36 ns pulse width, the highest average power 1.606 W ultraviolet light output has been got, The conversion efficiency of 1064 nm to 355 nm is 15.9%.
