Function Of Reading Groups In China

There are many reading groups since The Republic of China which has diffrence types and person and then still many workers and library reading groups extended to the founding period. In 2006, the Propaganda Department and Ministry of Education and other 11 ministries of the CPC Central Committee issued "on the proposal to carry out national reading activities". Reading status of people gradually improved, reading groups also get better development in the scale of development, the number of members, diversification of activities. However, few studies in this area now, so the study of function is exploratory research.This paper will be defined reading group as a spontaneous established, the main purpose to share reading, non-profit associations, include both entities and network reading clubs. It does not include discounts in the form of selling books book club and government, schools, businesses and other organizations will be reading with forced color. Paper collect?analysis data of 57 reading groups, including interviews of 10 reading groups and published content of official website of all the reading groups, such as weixin, blog, douban, etc; reports, comments of news sites on 40 reading groups; the relevant information will be reading some of the Forum meeting. Grounded theory analysis of these data were analyzed using a three-stage Strauss, through open coding, axial coding and selective coding getting 10 constructs. Using model mode divided it into 5 levels including motivation level, context layer, intermediate layer, action layer, performance levels. Forming a book club features folk elements of the organizational structure and finally make functions theory of reading groups.There are two main functions of civil book club at the individual level, improve efficiency and enhance the overall reading ability, which promotes comprehensive personal development and growth. The main function of non-government book club at the organizational level are normally development mode and expand the scale of development book club. Civil society level reading in the main function to promote national reading, reading spread ideas and promote the use of social education institutions.
