In recent years, the growth of power business demand has accelerated, prompting the capacity of network communication to increase. The transmission rate of primary and secondary communication network optical communication system gradually transition to 10 Gbit / s and 2.5Gbit / s from 2.5Gbit / s and 622Mbit/ s. As a important basic supporting platform of the smart grid and modern power grid construction, electric power communication play an increasingly prominent role on the areas of production, operation, management, marketing. To ensure that the power of communication and provide a strong guarantee services for all aspects of the smart grid,and to guaranty the power transmission network capable of supporting the development of various kinds of business in the next 5 to 10 years, the construction of large-capacity backbone Hebei optical transmission network is imperative.Firstly, this thesis analyzes the present situation of southern Hebei transmission network and the existing problems in transmission network. Secondly, researches the OTN technology in terms of the type of device, networking mode and protection methods. Then analysis and forecast the traffic of Hebei South network power communication network needs and gives two prediction models which give detailed needs analysis and calculation from provincial cities to the power company and city power company to company two levels county in Hebei province. After analysis, utilization of existing transmission network South Hebei region has reached 70%, close to saturation. Finally, combines the large-capacity Hebei South network backbone optical transmission network OTN networking project, discusses and configuration the actual transmission network application technology selection, equipment selection, site selection and protection. Also configured the network ?the communications room ?power supply and other support systems,then given the specific network topology design.Due to the use of OTN technology system in large capacity backbone transmission network of Southern Hebei Power Syeterm, the bandwidth is 80 × 10 Gbit / s in backbone part. It provide a large particles bandwidth transmission channel from provincial company to regional power supply companies and other important sites, so that the provincial and regional inter-country tune have large particle backbone network bandwidth services scheduling capabilities.Then it can improve the main network disaster recovery, redundant capability and meet the long-term business development needs.
