A novel optical fiber G.654.E applied in land high capacity communication and monitor line was designed and developed,to meet the need of high speed and high capacity optical communication system.The optical fiber have double properties of low loss and large effective area.The typical attenuation at 1550nm is 0.177dB/km,at1625nm is 0.191dB/km,effectively expanding the transmission distance of optical fiber.The typical value of MFD is 12.5?m and effective area is 130?m~2 at 1550nm,160%equivalent to conventional G.652 and effectively reduces the nonlinear effect of the fiber.The macro bending loss of R30mm*100turns is 0.031dB/km at 1625nm equal to G652,solve the technical contradiction of macro bending loss increase with effective area increase.The novel G.654.E used the independent design of large mode field,low refractive index core and sink trench inner-cladding structure.The core and inner-cladding of preform is prepared by VAD while the outer cladding is prepared by OVD,the large size preform treatment and cladding welding technology is used for long time continuously drawing.The fiber has already applied in China Unicom“Hami-Barkol”national long-haul trunk line and the actual properties is well,such as attenuation,PMD,macro bending loss,environmental suitability and the splicing compatibility with existing network.It can satisfy the deployment requirement of B100G and 400G high speed high capacity optical communication system and monitor line,and provide key material for national informatization construction.
