Chinese elevator equipment field has been supplying a fast changing society since the rapid economic development in China. Increasingly diversified customer requirements and intensified competition among peer groups have compelled elevator suppliers to come up with customized services to satisfy their clients, the early stage of which focuses on offering a customized quotation in a timely manner. This thesis therefore is dedicated to the research and implementation of a rapid quotation system for elevator equipment in order to better serve customers and to facilitate decision making processes, which should enjoy some importance both theoratically and practically.This thesis starts with a review of the current quotation methods and systems for the elevator equipment industry. Taking the manufacturing process of elevator equipment and the factors that affect the prices of elevator equipment into account, the thesis takes the approach of analyzing the two distinct parts of elevator equipment quotation, namely, the quotation of outsourced parts and the quotation of elevator car, based on elevator modularization and customer requirement units. It adopts the elevator engineering properties determination method and the elevator car decoration material price estimation method, which draw upon quality function deployment and BP neural network algorithm separately, and makes use of Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 as well as SQL Server 2008 in the hope of coming up with a rapid quotation system of elevator equipment.Research contents of the thesis are as follow.1. This thesis gives a brief introduction of modularization and its application in elevator equipment and divides the quotation system of elevator equipment into two parts: quotation of outsourced parts and of homemade elevator car.2. For the quotation of outsourced parts, the foundation is customer requirement unit and the key process the confirmation of engineering properties of elevator equipment. This thesis seeks to build a program model, which heeds to the autocorrelation of engineering properties and pursues the maximum of customer satisfaction at the same time, using the method of House of Quality.3. For the quotation of elevator cars, it adopts the method of BP neural network algorithm by giving the car decoration material characteristic values and training the neural network with a large number of historical data of previous quotation so that the practicability of the quotation can be verified and the key procedure of rapid quotation can be analyzed.4. After careful analysis of the functional model of quotation system and the working procedures, it manages to establish a rapid quotation system for elevator equipment, which follows the Client/Server norm, based on the foundation of the overall constitution and of the database structure.
