Biometric authentication is based on the biological characteristics,biological characteristics are innate,unique and non-replication.Due to the unique advantages of these characteristics,it has been widely used.We can see these everywhere in our daily life,such as access to authorized information,landing system,the identification of suspects and so on.Relatively speaking,the comprehensive performance of the fingerprint is prominent,so the identification based on fingerprint is the most widely used.The study of fingerprint identification has a relatively long process.In the early stage,the fingerprint data collected was used on the general computer.Although the performance can be met,the biggest disadvantage is that the volume is big,it is inconvenient to carry,which hinders its development.With the rapid development of embedded system,the speed of the processor is faster and faster,and the performance is better and better,so that the fingerprint identification system based on embedded platform has been developed rapidly.This paper analyzes the development of the fingerprint identification system and the existing research results.Especially in the practical application of fingerprint identification and testing of the performance,some key issues were carefully studied.An embedded fingerprint authentication system based on S3C6410 is designed,which is combined with Linux operating system.This system is mainly divided into two parts,hardware and software.In the part of hardware,the selection of the processor,the overall framework of the system and the introduction of image acquisition equipment were included.The software part mainly includes the analysis of the key algorithm of the fingerprint identification,the design of the driver,the analysis of the collection process,the design of the corresponding program and the evaluation of the quality of the fingerprint image collection.Although the theoretical research of fingerprint identification system is relatively perfect,with the development of embedded platform,the performance and accuracy of the system is still improved and improved.
