Fingerprint identification is safer and more convenient than the traditional methods, such as password, token or watchword, because it is unique and constant. Most of the traditional automatic fingerprint identification systems with high performance are based on PC. However, the civil market which is now developing rapidly request more convenience and flexibility. The automatic fingerprint identification system goes ahead to be smaller and embedded.In the embedded automatic fingerprint identification system (EAFIS), fingerprint identification algorithms and embedded hardware are the main research fields at present. The researches in fingerprint capturing, quality evaluation of fingerprint image and embedded manage information system, which are important and indispensable, are not enough. This dissertation is mainly to describe the three aspects of the research.It introduces the background, domestic and overseas actuality of fingerprint identification technology at first, and it provides the principle and the overall design scheme of EAFIS. Then, it is emphasized to describe the use of the semi-conductor fingerprint sensor FPS200 in embedded automatic fingerprint identification system which is based on DSP and also expounds the hardware connection of FSP200 and DSP, the initialization of FPS200, parameters adjusting and the programming of fingerprint capturing and finished fingerprint capturing. In the following parts it's emphasized to study the relationship and effect of fingerprint preprocessing and matching of the fingerprint image. For the skew fingerprint, dry fingerprint, wet fingerprint and the fingerprint not big enough, the dissertation provides quality evaluation standard and self adapting capturing function based on this standard. And it also optimizes fingerprint capturing method which enhanced the reliability of the system. At the ending part, the dissertation provides the research of embedded manage information system (EMIS) and it is also realized. Because the data of the embedded system need to save is big and the space of the memory is limited, a manage information system is designed, which is used to manage the whole system.The functions realized in the embedded manage information system including login, logging in, query, amending, deleting, manage of disk space and disk format. The content of this dissertation improves embedded automatic fingerprint identification system and it is necessary for the mature using.
