With the development of mobile Internet technology and the awakening of public awareness of rights, network public opinion events show multiple trends. An endless stream of public opinion events have been increasing the social risk factor. There are also a lot of relationship between individual public opinion events. The outbreak of a public opinion event will lead to the concentrated outbreak of associated events, which would prolong the excitement period of public opinion events, exacerbate the complexity of the evolution of public opinion, and increase the difficulty of public opinion control work. Thus researching on the relationship between hot spot events public opinion and investigating the evolution of public opinion events have important practical significance.This paper uses literature analysis, case analysis, quantitative analysis method to conduct a comprehensive study on the network public opinion association phenomenon from the theoretical and empirical angles. This paper explores the types and patterns of public opinion, divided public opinion association into subject relevance,topic relevance, emotional relevance and public opinion cocooning, public opinion in according to the related elements and the related range, and summarizes the pattern of public opinion association to horizontal correlation pattern, longitudinal association pattern, transverse longitudinal cross correlation pattern and label derivative pattern, prototype narrative pattern, emotional resonance pattern from the two levels of space and time and symbol; discusses the formation mechanism and the reasons of public opinion association, and summarizes the formation mechanism of public opinion association to focusing mechanism, diffusion mechanism, resonance mechanism, association mechanism, and analyzes the causes of public opinion from the social, network, media, public four angles; constructs the quantitative model of public opinion association, puts forward the concept of relevance degree of public opinion, and tests the quantitative model of public opinion association combined with the specific case of public opinion.Through the research, this paper argues that public opinion association is an important phenomenon in the evolution of public opinion, which can extend the excitement cycle of events, promote the deep understanding of the problem, and promote the effective solution to the problem, but at the same time it is easy to cause the public awareness of the curing, increase social barriers, affect social harmony and stability. When it comes to prevent the negative impacts of the public opinion, this paper put forward the following suggestions:strengthening the traditional media public opinion guiding ability, establishing hot public opinion tracking mechanism, strengthening the construction of the databases of associated public opinion, strengthening the management of the media and Internet users guide, and establishing a rapid, three-dimensional public opinion dealing system. Besides through the empirical study, it shows that among the critical factors of public opinion association, the association with the event theme occupies the largest proportion, it is necessary to determine whether the two topics are related to each other firstly bef ore judging the relationship between two public opinion incidents.
