Abstract/Summary:
In Chinese family,cooking culture in it plays a relatively important role,since it doesn’t only maintain the daily life going and keep people not hungry,but also satisfies people’s spiritual needs in their life.When the needs for foods and drinks are met,daily life standard is enhanced,so is the spiritual world.Family affection,as the focus among senior citizens,can be perfectly manifested by family diet.As for mass media,they are supposed to give play to their own advantages,pay more attention to senior citizens and make more programs which are suitable for them instead of only remaining in the trend of"rejuvenation",no matter from the aspect of humanistic care or the potential of market development.The cooking program the author studies in this paper mainly targets the middle aged and elderly people as well as housewives,while develops potential audiences among the young.With Delicious"Family" Diets this program,audiences are reminded of the importance of family cooking culture,so that they would focus on the emotion absence issue of the aged and humanistic care for them can be roused.China has become a graying society and is one of the countries with the largest population of senior citizens.For TV media,"aging" has turned into an external condition which has to be taken into consideration in the development of TV program.The media market of the aged is so huge that all media can’t give up.This paper studies the gourmet program oriented by "family cooking culture" from the presentation mode of television from this major premise.The author expects to let mass media know the potential market of programs for the aged through this Delicious "Family" Diets program and opens up a new road for the TV programs primarily about family affection for the aged.Before the program Delicious "Family" Diets is filmed,there are already relevant documentaries,such as A Bite of China,Taste of Home by Liaoning TV,and Happy Kitchen by BTV’s life channel,Taste of Happiness by BTV and Taste of Mom by Liaoning TV.Although the starting point of theirs is different from this paper’s,they can provide some reference and data basis for the author’s research.The author tries to study how gourmet programs present family cooking culture to hundreds of millions of audiences through mass media in this paper.By means of analysis about gourmet programs like Eat Home and Taste of China as well as the Delicious "Family" Diets produced the author,the programs’basic information such as the forms and module set are understood,so as to parse how family cooking culture blends in programs.With participatory observation,interviews,case study and document research,the author furthers the interpretation of how gourmet programs present family cooking culture in TV,what kind of results are manifested and which factors should be taken into consideration when choosing food and selecting guests.Meanwhile,this paper reveals the problems in those gourmet programs showing domestic emotions and which aspects can be improved.The author expects to provide some reference to the development of gourmet programs taking family cooking culture as the core content in the future through this attempt and practice.In programs with family affection theme,family cooking culture is the core and the selection of cuisines is the key and soul of the program.The main body of the programs covers the process of all cuisines and narration of stories,as the programs seem display cooking but the family affection showed by dishes,which symbolize family ties;secondly,guests shouldn’t be selected blindly for the programs,as they are supposed to be topical with stories,which can reflect the family affection this theme.In Delicious"Family" Diets this program,guests and hosts will interact with each other acting as parents and children,so that the profound meaning in family cooking culture can be better presented.After a comprehensive research on gourmet programs,the author discovers their merits as well as the flaws and problems in them.There is still a huge room for the presentation mode by television of the family cooking culture in Delicious "Family" Diets to advance.Among gourmet programs targeting senior citizens,it is still not thorough of the exploration in family cooking culture,as the forms presented in Delicious "Family" Diets are not diversified and roles in it aren’t proactive enough in interactions,which leads to obscure embodiment of the theme.For example,in the program,if hosts are replaced by guests’real children in the interaction,family cooking culture them of the program will be emphasized,which will create a larger development space and more possibilities for this kind of programs.
