For the needs of distance open experiment teaching and remotely operating instruments,combined with widespread use of the Michelson interferometer in college physics experiment,with Michelson interferometer as the experimental study, this article designs a remote experimental platform.From the analysis of functional needs of remotely operating Michelson interferometer,this platform that consists of automatic measurement module, operating module, monitoring module, control module and interaction module is determined. Through respective analysis and contrast to a variety of implementations of each module, selecting out the most appropriate program constructs the overall system architecture.By analyzing and comparing the automatic measurement program for fine-adjustment hand wheel's moving distance and automatic counting program for interference fringes,the automatic measurement module respectively adopt the methods of using a step motor step angle to measure moving distance and using OV7725 camera sensor to analyze fringes from the resolution, accuracy, stability; the operating module select 42BYGHM809 step motor as driving motor and THB6128 chip as driver chip from the resolution and stability; the monitoring module uses network camera from the technology difficulty and cost; the processor of control module chooses Freescale's MK60FX512VLQ15 chip from the processor's clock frequency and memory size; by analyzing and comparing software system architecture, the design of network communication program and experimental field interaction module, the interaction module respectively adopt the solutions of the C / S structure, W5200 Ethernet chip and LCD touch screen from the efficiency and convenience;This article focuses on the detailed design of five functional modules respectively. For example, the design of automatic measurement module includes the design of OV7725 camera drivers, the process design of image acquisition and the design of automatic counting algorithm of fringe; the design of operation module mainly refers to the design of subdivision drive which takes subdivision driver chip which specified THB6128 and optical isolators chip as the core; the design of monitoring module mainly introduces the application design of network camera; the design of control module includes the design of processor minimumsystem and the design of main program which comprises the task of the user management and the task of monitoring and control; the design of interaction module includes the design of the client login screen and experiment screen, the design of W5200 chip driver circuit, the design of data security and LCD touch-screen interface.Subdivision drive and automatic fringe counting algorithm were tested, the results show:sinusoidal subdivision waveform produced by subdivision drive is exact and the counter for fringes is high precise. all link of Michelson interferometer experiment can be successfully completed, the monitoring effects of interference fringes is clear, and the maximum error result of He-Ne laser wavelength measurements does not exceed 1.3/‰.
