With the rapid development of IC industry, the functional test that plays an important role in the industry has been placed an increasing requirement. The problem for many IC design companies is: how to complete the chip function test with high efficiency and low cost. Due to chips having different packaging and complex functions, a set of general automatic test platform for chip function can obtain good economic and social benefits.Based on the requirement of internship company project, this paper designs and implements a set of automatic test platform for chip function. The platform consists of the following three parts: a chip control system of automatic test platform with high generality, a PC software of test platform based on Windows, and a test circuit board based on SHC3206.The platform not only reduces the labor costs of chip function test, but also shortens the testing time significantly. Surrounding the chip test platform, this paper mainly focuses on the following several aspects:1. Automatic test platform control system for chip is designed and implemented. According to the motor parameters and mechanical drawing size provided by the mechanical equipment manufacturers, the paper designs a set of test platform control system. The system consists of a control circuit and the control program, which has the functions including self-checking system, automatic calibration, error detection, collision detection, etc, making it high generality and flexibility. Repeated test results show that the platform control system can work safely and stably for a long time.2. The paper designs and implements the PC software of chip test system based on Windows. In order to ensure the generality of the test system, this paper designs and realizes a set of PC software for a real-time communication with the automatic chip test platform. Through the serial port reserved in the test platform control system, PC can not only obtain the real-time test data and then display the test results, but also modify basic displacement parameters of the testing system in order to meeting the needs of the different packaging test chips.3. Based on a SHC3206 chip from the company, the paper develops a functional test board.This test board can test and validate chip function indexes, the steps are as follows: first of all, the chip is placed into the test circuit board socket by the automatic test platform for testing; after completed the test for all the chip functions, then the test board feedbacks the test results to the test platform control system; finally, according to whether the test result is qualified or not, the platform places the chips in the different chip test area. To cycle the above steps can realize the chip batch test automatically. The alignment measurements shows that the average testing time of single chip is 2.5 seconds, which is far lower than that of manual test time and has no manual errors. As a result, the system can effectively improve the test efficiency and quality of the chip.
