The Research On The Copyright Problem Of Micro-Reading Platform

Reading has always been an indispensable part of human's life, especially in the context of the construction of socialist civilization nowadays; people pay more attention to the requirement of "quality" and "quantity". In recent years, the maturity of Internet technology, widespread use of development of mobile Internet devices and the integrating of media are changing people's reading habits. Digital reading comes people's daily life. The behavior of "micro-reading" comes into being. Because of illegal copy and the special properties of propagation, the problem of copyright has become the major bottleneck restricting the development of micro-reading platform.The generalized micro-reading platform is the carrier of all readings, including Mobile Reading Apps, Pad browser clients, E-book reader, Web page Reading and so on. The micro-reading platform we referred to is based on the narrow concept, including news and reading clients like Weibo, Wechat, Quaro, Douban, Duokan, Portable Reader Integration System(PRIS). Our research focous on Weibo, Wechat Official Accounts and Reading App.By analyzing the current development of Weibo, Wechat Official Accounts and Reading apps, we find that frequent copyright disputes are the main issue of micro-reading development from beginning to end, though it progresses rapidly. With the rapid rising of micro-reading platforms, the copyright disputes among the platform, users and traditional media always exist.The reasons of problems mentioned above is caused by the lack of copyright sense leading to optional re-print as well as the lack of original content. The problems of micro-reading platform are not only the lack of original content supplies and authorizing-before-propagating copyright sense, but also the difficulties of ownership affirmation, limited approaches and technology backwards of copyright protection on safeguard legal rights.Obviously, to solve the copyright issues of the micro-reading platform cannot be accomplished overnight. At the macro level, it needs to refine the digital copyright system, enhance the national awareness and standardize reprint order. At the micro-level, it needs to standardize rights-production system, expand rights-production channel and establish paid reading mode so as to promote the production of the outstanding copyright resources. And it also needs to take advantage of the copyright alliance, strengthen copyright protection technology to enhance their own copyright protection.
