With the explosive growth of mobile Internet, the ability to access,, spectrum utilization, network coverage and green energy saving of wireless mobile communication have been made great improvement, at the same time, the wireless mobile communication technology and computer and information technology have closer and deeper intersection, which is likely to bring the whole information and communication technology more breakthrough and disruptive changes and developments. In the face of a new generation of information technology rapid development, which will bring a rare historic strategic opportunity, the concept of the LTE is put forward and getting the leap development. one of the key technical features of LTE is the introduction of DRX, which is called discontinuous receiving technology, to maximize the utilization rate of the battery, to maximize the performance of system.So, it solves the problem of legacy systems may produce energy conservation,improve system performance. Under the premise that the understanding of the mechanism of DRX, how to improve it, how to make it play a huge function, how to become a focus in the study of LTE.First, before the main content in this paper, the domestic and foreign environment are given to show that LTE development trends and key technologies,and we will analyze that system architecture and the structure and function of each layer of the LTE/LTE-A. We will have a focus on emphasis on the MAC layer,because the DRX discontinuous receiving belongs to this layer.Secondly, according to the agreement and the related literature, under the RCC idle and RCC CONNECTED state, we will introduce the principle, process and working mechanism of the DRX, so that to achieve the understand of the existing algorithms and their focuses.Article focuses on the existing DRX DRX mechanisms and algorithms into the advantages and disadvantages of deep analysis on the basis of the study, adding different CQI environment, a method is proposed to improve the integrated use of two different energy saving mode, and through simulation, the performance of the old and new algorithms are compared, elaborated their respective strengths and weaknesses,as well as applicable.The paper analyzes the average delay, packet loss rate and the average sleeping time to get new improvements which compared to the existing methods have increased significantly in the last two indicators, especially in the average sleeping time, new improvements methods PDCCH carrying capacity relative to the original method of maximum have increased about 26.7%, while the average delay for the decline, which is the inevitable result of the improved algorithm based on the characteristics of algorithms.The result shows that the new and improved method compare to the previous method, the average sleep time and packet loss rate have a very prominent increase, however, the average delay reduces.Overall, for improving the overall performance of the system has played a certain role.
