Research And Implementation Of Dual-protection In The PTN Network Management System

With the rapid development of network technology, the network is rapidly entering the era of IP. With the expanding of network size, escalating of hardware, and rapid development of new services. In this context, as the bearer network,PTN network also faces enormous challenges and pressure to survive. In addition to the continuous improvement of these functions, PTN transmission network will inevitably encounter some hardware failure in the procession, such as the link fault and docking equipment failure. Once the network suffered these faults, then the entire PTN network is concerned, it is difficult to calculate the loss. Therefore, in the process of transferring an entire PTN network, we need an efficient protection mechanism to ensure the integrity of the entire network business, fluency and efficiency. Meanwhile PTN protection mechanisms has become a new research project to ensure the consistency of the business.This issue mainly from Taiwan coriant's PTN NMS. The NMS is mainly used for the performance of sub-network manager of the company under the jurisdiction of the network elements and the managed network. The authors participated in the development of dual-homing protection module in PTN NMS, the main work include requirements analysis and design of PTN NMS, the building of system environment, the program coding and debugging, the testing of dual-homing protection modules and the final system. With the help of PTN network management system, the issue is start from the architecture design of management system, followed by introduction of the dual-homing protection scenarios, realization of the principle, and the protection of the foundation. Then the issue made detailed requirements analysis and modeling work of the protection mechanism on the NMS from the point of view of the system development. And also made design to the special dimension SBI layer. Finally, the issue made a comparative analysis of protection from practical engine, by this means We conclude a result that this protection mechanisms has high significance in PTN network.There is a dual-homing protection,it is one of PTN protection mechanisms, which is mainly focused on business protection service access point and the user side, through the traditional single service access point on the basis of an additional service access point, the two work together to ensure that business can successfully reach the user side. Therefore, the use of dual homing protection in PTN network can make the network more robust performance in service delivery and the user side service access point.As the dual-homing protection mechanism is only a theoretical existence and there is no uniform standard, so the major carriers' implementation are different, and there are inevitably conflict occurs in the case of large network convergence. In this issue, the focus on the practical application of dual-homing protection mechanisms in the network management system, and has engineering reference.
