With the rapid development of our country economy and technology, our country has become one of the global electronics manufacturing power. In the process of electronic products manufacturing, the method in general use in the industry is the SMT technology. In the SMT production line, our country already has the ability to manufacture all SMT production line equipment except the SMT machine. The core technologies of SMT machine is grasped by a few developed countries. Consequently, research on SMT machine equipment and realize localization of SMT machine equipment has important significance for China's electronics manufacturing industry. There are a large number of small and medium-sized electronics manufacturing companies in our market at present, these companies always have to take a lot of costs to manufacture a prototype production in the Pre-research stage. It hindered the rapid development of these companies. In this paper, the research on the desktop SMT machine is in order to solve this problem.The paper dicuss on implementation of desktop SMT machine thoroughly. The X-Y movement plane structure, the limit design of placement head, the feeding scheme and the machine vision system are introduced and analyzed. Desktop SMT machine through the motion controller to drive the stepper motor, solenoid valve and the light of machine vision. At the same time, the motion controller receive the signal from limit switch, communicate with PC through the USB cable. The placement head need to move on four axis of XYZ?, and there are two suction nozzle on it. In order to avoid the stepper motor out of step or overshoot, the X-Y axis need to have speed control. Its acceleration and deceleration should be controlled strictly by a real-time calculation method that this article introduced. Through this method, the maximum speed and acceleration of stepper motor are flexible. The computer acquire the image of the PCB from a industrial camera, and through the openCV library to process the image, and identify the Mark point. And introduced the conversion of the components coordinate.
