| The cultural and creative industry has been hot in China. Changsha film and television industry whose representative is Hunan Television Army is highly anticipated. Research shows that the film and television industry has obvious operating characteristic of network which is project-oriented. From the perspective of network structure and its evolution, this paper analyses the network structure of Changsha TV industry and explore how its unique network structure promotes the development of Changsha TV industry. Firstly, this article combs and reviews related researches.Then defines related concepts, recalls related theories and introduces the development situation of Changsha TV drama industry. In the following, based on the 106 TV drama samples in the directory of domestic television issuing licenses produced by Changsha film and television enterprises during the period 2004-2013, which publicized by State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television.Spatial analysis and social network analysis are used in this article to investigate the spatial structure characteristic and topological structure characteristic of Changsha TV drama industrial network. Finally, this paper analyzes the influence of specific network structure to Changsha TV industry development.Results indicate:firstly, spatial structure analysis shows that, the network is highly open in geographical space, and network nodes present obvious imbalance in spatial distribution. Changsha local nodes account for only 9.49% of the total nodes in the network, and they are mainly engaged in the front "production" and "shooting" links of value chain. However, most other nodes are located in Beijing. Spatial structure evolution analysis shows that, the network is becoming more open, and the percentage of Changsha local nodes is downing while share of Beijing nodes rising. Changsha local nodes are still based on "production" and "shooting" links, and Beijing nodes rank first in all links.Secondly, topological structure analysis reveals that, the proportion of enterprise nodes is largest; the whole network is like a spoke and characterized by obvious core-edge with low density and short average distance between different nodes; the core nodes are mostly Changsha local nodes, and Hunan Broadcasting System,which has double identity of both institutional organization and enterprise, has the largest power in the network. Topological structure evolution analysis shows that, the percentage of enterprises nodes is rising; the network has evolved into a single component network from multi-components network. And network mononuclear is more obvious, the power of Hunan Broadcasting System is rising on the whole. Thirdly, network structure and its evolution has important influence on Changsha TV industry development.The spatial structure and its evolution are helpful for industry resources gaining and industry innovation, but may make the industry development in increasing external dependency at the same time. The topological structure and its evolution could strengthen market competition, optimize resources allocation, increase knowledge and information flow, exert leading role of the core nodes and promote industrial innovation but the mononuclear characteristic of network may also limit the development of other nodes. |
