Large cylindrical tank is a common storage equipment on oil, chemical, aerospace industry, it must meet the special requirements of corrosion-resistant, high temperature resistance, etc., so we must do some necessary measure to protect it in scientific methds. Spraying paint is an effective and frequently-used in anti-corrosion measures to cylindrical tank. At present, large cylindrical tank is often used manually spray painting to protect itself. Manual spraying not only have low productivity, bad quality in spraying, it will also harm to the health of workers in the bad environment. Therefore, design an automatic spraying device of cylindrical tank is imperative.Combining the characteristics of a variety of automatic spraying device's movement, designing a structure of automatic spraying device for cylindrical tank in this paper. Using spiral-type line as spray gun's spraying track. Automatic spraying device of cylindrical tank can drive tank to revolve and drive spray gun to move up and down, side-to-side and stretching movement. In this way, spray gun can adjust its height, space and angle with tank. Collaborative working of spray gun's horizontal movement, vertical movement, radial movement and rotary movement can complete its mission in a highly quality and efficiency way.Both roller stands structure and gear drive are adopted to achieve smooth rotary motion of the cylindrical tank designated. Rack and pinion drive structure is used in the spraying gun horizontal(X-axis) and vertical(Z-axis) movement. Dual belt driven linear structure is used to move the spraying gun in radial direction(Y-axis) with benefits of increasing the spray stroke and reducing equipment space. RV reducer is used to rotate spraying gun.By using three-dimensional software Pro/E to build solid model for automatic spraying device. Using scenario for motion of Pro/E to analysis part of structure of automatic spraying device's movement. Using finite element analysis software Analysis and Hyper Mesh to analysis the part of structure of automatic spraying device's forcing. Obtaining stress distribution of the contact area and finding the location and cause of their maximum stress appears.The automatic spraying device can be used in spraying operations for large cylindrical tank, and its structure is simple, low cost. It has a adjustable spray velocity, acceleration gun steady, precise positioning and so on.
