Large-scale electric transformer plays an important role in economy and daily life. As the development of industry and agriculture, the requirement of electric power is becoming larger and larger. In this case, the capability and voltage level are increasing. The requirement of running quality and working environment is sterner than before. So summarizing transformer's CAD and CAE system is exigent. In the thesis, the author has implemented transformer tank's automatic CAD system, structure and magnetic field analysis of transformer. Based on the analysis, the structure optimization of transformer's tank has been implemented.The author has developed the transformer CAD system using VC, Pro/E and database. Based on the design standard and characteristic of transformer, the accessory of transformer's tank and the whole tank's CAD system using the Pro/TOOLKIT offered by Pro/E have been accomplished. The author has also managed the interrelated data recurring to the database. In conclusion, the author finished the CAD system of transformer's tank.The tank structure in the case of vacuum experiment has been analysed using the finite element software ANSYS. Based on the process, the CAE system to adapt to the user's operation has been developed. Through it, we can look over the stress and DOF result in the experiment. Engineer can use the result taking action to improve the capability of transformer's tank.The author has implemented the optimization based on the above analysis. There are two methods: one is using the OPT module to implement it, the other is increasing ribs on the weakness position. Through the contrast of these methods, the method and the process of optimization in transformer's tank have been summarized.In the last part, the magnetic field of transformer has been anslysed. 2-D and 3-D leakage magnetic analysis field analysis method and process based on the magnetic theory and characteristic were offered in the thesis. In the end, the author summarized the magnetic characteristic of transformer according to the analysis result.The completion of thesis offers a set of feasible methods for the CAD/CAE development of transformer's tank. For the CAD aspect, based on the Pro/E software, the thesis shows the basic process of transformer's tank CAD and database virtual assemble system using the second development. For the CAE aspect, based on the ANSYS software, the thesis shows the process of the transformer's tank structure and magnetic field. Based on the above analysis, the optimization of the transformer's tank has been implemented. In today's machine industry, CAD and CAE develop and supplement each other. The electric transformer is in machine and high voltage industry. CAD/CAE is also the essential power in transformer industry.In a word, the idea and method in the thesis offer a detailed project for the transformer's automation design and optimization in the manufacture practice.
