With the rapid development of modern industry, in the field of metallurgy, electric power, chemical, mining, municipal, petroleum and agriculture and forestry department, the forms of pumping station are getting more and more, the scale and investment is also getting more and more large. Functional classification becomes more and more detailed. In the aspect of the economic efficiency, power consumption of all the water sector is large. In the mechanical equipment of the Department, the pump is high energy consuming equipment, the pump energy consumption is also large. According to some information, power of pump and fan consumption accounted for about half of the electricity power industry, it is about 1/3 of the total electricity consumption. So, choosing reasonable pump is of practical significance in improving the economic benefits of enterprises and the competitiveness of their products, and it plays an important role in the development of the national economy. Due to the rapid development of modern computer software technology, the complex work of selection of pump can use a computer to complete. Not only the computer can select pump automatically, but also it can be favorably arranged the the requirements of the water pump. the computer can calculate the operating point and draw the characteristic curve of pump, so using pump enterprises naturally took note of the intelligent select pump system.The research and development of intelligent select pump system platform is the research content of this topic. The software development techniques, tools and the system design and Implementation were introduced in this paper. The software development technology was the Unified Modeling Language of Unified Modeling Language. This paper introduced the development of core technology. Software development language was VB6.0, using ADO to connect the software with SQL Server 2000.The user requiremen of the platform of intelligent pump system was analyzed in detail in this paper. In the full understanding of customers needs, the work and process of the users were traced and investigated. System functions were described using the UML. Each function of the use case diagram was drawn. The system level model was constructed, and the structure and function of the system was determined.The intelligent pump system consists of three modules:pump selection module, database module, check module. Pump selection module was to use the computer calculating and select optimal pump type, and specific information of the selected pump can be viewed, such as technical parameters, working curve and installation size. In the selected pump module, first of all, using the two time curve, the pump flow Q?height H (Q?H) curve, flow rate Q?power N (Q?N) curve and flow Q?efficiency ? (Q?n) curve were fitted, then pump can be selected using the pump curve.The database module's function was to edit the pump and its accessories according to requirements of the manufacturers and user. The system contains all the information input interface of pump products,and it is convenient and flexible. Its applicable scope is wide; Category name of database was named by the user according to their own needs.The database of this system was set as three categories.Pump products and related accessories were classified with the three grade. the interface of three types editting data were given to the user.Through this interface, users can edit on every level data. Pump database was created through direct input or import data form. Created database can be modified, added and deleted. The user can restrict the permissions by setting the password of database operation. This check module can be used as an auxiliary sales system. All information in a database can be browsed and checked, including technical parameters, installation size, characteristic curve, accessories, price, manufacturer etc. The module contains two kinds of query pump data, respectively, according to the type of pump and pump type queries in query. Query by pump type method is suitable for the users who do not know the pump specific models or need to check all the pump. Some other information through this software can be checked. Query by pump model method is suitable for the user who needs to check a specific type of pump. The pump model was inputted in the input box, then the search button was clicked on. If the database contains the water pump, the interface will display information to the query.The system generated the installation files, it can run directly on the Microsoft Windows 7/Microsoft Windows XP/Microsoft Windows 2000 operating system.The research result of this paper provides a platform of creating database of pump product and a tool of the pump product samples update for the pump manufacturer.The design is described in detail in each chapter of the paper.
