An Investigation Of The Present Situation Of Primary School Labor Education In Xi’an Based On The Key Competencies For Chinese Student’ Development

Strengthening the cultivation of students" key competencies is an important measure to implement the basic tasks of morality education,and labor consciousness is also one of the elements of key competencies.On August 3,2015,the Ministry of Education,the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and the National Working Committee of Young Pioneers of China jointly issued Suggestions on Strengthening Labor Education in Primary and Middle Schools.It clearly put forward that carrying out the educational policy of China Communist Party,implementing quality education and effectively practicing the socialist core values cannot be separated from labor education.On September 13,2016,the report on the Development of Core Literacy of Chinese students was released,which points out that labor consciousness is an important component of the core literacy of practice innovation in social participation.Suggestions on Strengthening Labor Education in Primary and Middle Schools and Chinese Students’ Core Literacy Development Report both point out a series of problems existing in the current Chinese Students’ labor education.For example:schools,families and society have paid insufficient attention to labor education isses and appreciated students’academic performance rather than their labor ability.Therefore,the comprehensive study of the current situation of labor education in primary school is not only of great significance to the education authorities,schools and families,but also to the overall development of students.This paper is based on the previous research on the labor education in primary school,and syntheticaily applies the methods of questionnaire,discussion,literature analysis and so on Taking the actual situation of a primaly school in Xi’an as an example,a questionnaire survey and interviews were conducted among parents and pupils of all grades,observe the day-to-day status of students in a primary school in Xi’an City,attend labor courses in different grades,communicate with teachers in labor classes,,communicate with pupils of different grades,and use parents’ meetings to communicate with parents about labor education issues.From the overall situation of labor education in the society,its implementation in school,the degree of implementation at home and the attitude of pupils towards labor,relevant data were collected and the current situation and existing problems of primary school students’ labor education based on the cultivation of core literacy were found out.Then this paper analyzes the existing problems.from multiple aspects,and seeks for the strategies to solve the current problems of labor education in primary school,in order to meet the requirements of cultivating the core literacy and realize the all-round development of the primary school students in the new era.Finally,combined with the domestic and foreign research on labor education,on the basis of investigation and analysis of the result,this paper puts forward the following countermeasures to solve the problem of prinary school students’ labor education and suggestions for improvement:First,the new connotation of the times endows students’ labor education with new value,therefore,we should ethance our thought and change our mind;Second,it is necessary to perfect the government safeguard measures to eosure the effective implementation of labor education in primary schools;Third,the methods of labor education in schools should be enhanced to boost the effectiveness of the labor education;Fourth,we should strengthen family labor education and cultivate the labor value concept of primary school Students.
