The development of teachers cannot be separated from their professional growth.The professional growth of teachers is not only a period of effort,but also a case throughout their entire career.With the expansion of teachers,the professional development of the novice teachers and expert teachers is gradually focused by all walks of life,but the mature teachers who play an essential role in the school are ignored by most people.Compared with the novice teachers,the mature teachers have richer teaching practice and experience,besides,they gradually formed a stable teaching style.In the process of the development,the mature teachers are generally brought up by novice teachers,but not necessarily grow into superfine teachers in the end.In the actual investigation and training work,the author found that with the growth of the age,its energy gradually dispersed by physical condition,family status,which make these teachers are in a state of semi-retirement,and have a stagnation of professional development.Education of primary school is important in our country,and the comprehensive quality of teachers is particularly important.Compared with the middle school,there is no pressure on the entrance examination.While the work of primary school teachers is more trivial and complicated due to the younger students.In this environment,some of the mature teachers use all of the opportunities to improve themselves,to achieve the goal of the expert teachers.But there are many mature teachers begin to stagnate,their teaching method and content "decades" and lack of certain planning for career.Therefore,it is very important to help the mature teachers to achieve the secondary growth.The professional growth of teachers is a continuous dynamic process,and teachers in different stages of development have different development characteristics due to their differences in teaching experience and teaching practice.First of all,this study comb the related theory of teacher's professional growth with the literature method,to understand the current situation of the mature teachers.Second,the author select ten mature teachers of primary school from different areas in Hebei province and then study these teachers with interview method,observation method to study these teachers.According these we can know about their current difficulties and development needs and analyse affecting factors throughvarious channels.Then we can put forward some concrete strategies on the basis of the characteristics of the mature teacher development to renewed the enthusiasm of them.On the one hand,it is necessary to supplement the theoretical research of teachers' professional development,on the other hand,it can provide some references for the growth of the overall mature teachers.The full text is divided into seven parts:The introduction mainly discusses the question proposed,the research significance,the literature review,the research ideas and methods as well as difficulties and innovations of the research,besides,the "mature teachers” and the teachers of “secondary growth” are definited.The first chapter mainly introduces the theoretical basis of the mature teachers and the "secondary growth",which focus on Knowles of adult learning theory,the theory of Huberman's life cycle of teachers' occupation and the theory of Ye Lan's teacher growth stage.The second chapter,based on the actual investigation introduces characteristic of mature teachers' professional development,mainly through observation and interview method from the professional consciousness,professional knowledge,professional ability three aspects to mature teachers professional development characteristics of the current system of analysis.The third chapter is mainly about the case of the mature teachers.Three representative teachers are chosen from the investigated teachers,they are Miss Zhao,Miss Li and Miss Gao.The mature teachers development experience and current situation are introduced in detail according to the background analysis,growth experience,organizational environment and teachers' factors.The fourth chapter systematically analyzes and sums up the current impact of the "secondary growth" of the mature teachers.This chapter mainly analysis the internal factors and the external factors which affecting the mature teachers according to their growing experience and developing situation.It mainly includes internal factors such as the pressure of new curriculum reform,social expectation,school pressures and so on,some external factors such as teachers' reflective abilities,teacher's attributional styles and the independent growth consciousness.Chapter five introduces the countermeasures to promote the "secondary growth" of mature teachers.These countermeasures mainly include family and social understanding,thesupport of the school and mature teachers' own efforts these three aspects.These suggestions can provide some enlightenments to the development of the mature teachers.The last part is the summary of this research and the prospect of promoting the professional growth of mature teachers.
