| “Don’t read without a pen”,is a well-known aphorism when it comes to reading methods.“Pen”,in addition to the simple outline,mainly refers to the notes and summaries during reading.About their role and significance,ancient and modern scholars’ insights are countless.The vast majority of Chinese teachers and students in middle school agree that notes and summaries have a very positive role in improving reading abilities and habits.Through the observation of daily teaching,however,the application is not common.In the Chinese reading class of middle school,most students are very weak in noting and summarizing,or have bad habits.So it is necessary to explore effective applications of notes and summaries in teaching strategy of junior middle school,thus to improve reading teaching concept,method,and quality as well.Based on the analysis of relevant research literature,this paper reviewed the ancient and modern scholars’ statements of the role and significance on the notes and summaries in reading,and also made clear function of notes and summaries on improving their reading abilities and developing reading habits for junior middle school students.Investigation shows that many serious problems exist in application.The main reason lies in the teachers’ superficial knowledge and the absence of guidance.The students have no clear cognition of what and how to note and summarize for different textbooks,thus lose insistence on the habits.In terms of the present situation and problems in application of notes and summaries in reading teaching of junior middle school,through the analysts of the course objectives and textbook article types,the examples of practical texts,literature texts,discourse texts and ancient poems reading,we finally draw a basic understanding that note contents and summary methods should be suitable for different genres of text reading.Based on the analysis and reference of reading teaching cases,we developed practical research,and refined the basic principle of guiding students in effective use of notes and summaries.Integrated the above research,through putting forward some teaching suggestions for further research and practices,we work on changing the concept of reading teaching,and paying attention to strengthening guidance to students during reading practices,and developing curriculum resources. |
