Research On The Effect Of Family Capital On Higher Education Access Opportunity

With the implementation of the policy of higher education enrollment,higher education has developed rapidly,and higher education already from elite education into the popularization education stage in China.Popularization of higher education has to a large extent to meet the broad masses of people said that the growth of higher education needs,effectively easing the contradiction between supply and demand of higher education.However,the expansion of higher education,and opportunities of higher education do not mean that the issue of higher education equity is resolved.In the media public opinion reports we can often read such as: children in the elite family are more likely to go to college,the rich family of children to college college more easily and so on.In this context,the need to re-examine the issue of higher education's equity is necessary.Please thinking about that who obtains higher education opportunities? Who does own the limited quality of higher education? What factors affect the access to higher education opportunities?In this study,based on the theories of cultural capital theory and social capital theory,divided the family capital which may affect the opportunity of higher education into household economic capital,family cultural capital and family,used family capital self questionnaire as a measurement tool to survey the varying types of colleges and universities in Chongqing.After analyzing the data and materials,It found that the family capital had an important influence on the acquisition of individual higher education opportunities,including the income elements in the family economic capital,the parents' educational level in the family cultural capital,and the family social capital of the parents of the vocational class elements of the students access to higher education opportunities the most profound,with more family capital of students in the higher education opportunities to gain competition in the more advantages.The pursuit of social justice and justice is always the mainstream values of society as a whole."Education as the main means to achieve social mobility,education is the cornerstone of social equity." To gradually eliminate the impact of family capital on higher education opportunities,put forward four recommendations: reform fee system,flexible fees;advocate lifelong learning,attention Family education;to promote social class mobility,to strengthen the underlying social care;attention to the accumulation of education,the establishment of basic education compensation system.This study in the research field is not a tip of the iceberg,but just a tentative exploration,I hope I can take this as the foundation,deepen the study in the later research.
