Physics inquiry teaching as a way to improve students ' creativity and practical ability of new teaching methods,received national attention in the education sector,and the formation of a research focus.In less developed areas in Western of China,there is a gap in the situation of teachers,teaching hardware and the overall level of students than that of other developed regions.In order to learn more about "inquiry" teaching situation in underdeveloped regions in Western China,and to provide reference for the education sector.The author chose the topic: Investigation and analysis of the Middle School Physics "inquiry" teaching in western underdeveloped minorities ——take the Xixiu district,An Shun city,in Guizhou province,for example.This study consists of the following components:The first is mainly talk about the Concept of "Inquiry" teaching and the historical research of it.Figuring out what is "Inquiry" teaching,and the origins of "inquiry" teaching and the characteristic of it and its grading standards.The second part is about literature study.The author was going to figure out the present situation of "Inquiry" teaching research,both at home and abroad.On the basis of the results of the study,the author come up with her comprehensions about the "inquiry" teaching.The third part is about policy research.Checked out national and other major countries issued by the Ministry of education in the high school physics course standard of "inquiry" teaching requirements.The fourth part is to dig the theoretical basis about "inquiry" teaching deeply,Clear the principle that "inquiry" teaching should be guided by principles and problems.The fifth part is literature study.Check out a great deal of "inquiry" teachingsurvey and analysis of the implementation of theses,divided into the dimension of this research and development questionnaire.The sixth part is questionnaires and structured interviews and unstructured interviews.The author develops her work by stratified random sampling approach to investigate the teachers,students and parents and statistical analysis of the survey data,come to the following conclusions.The conclusion about our teachers :The teachers' scientific research ability is weak in the west of China,which is limited by education and environment.Teachers in the underdeveloped provinces of the West have large number of people in one class.The teacher will leave the students sometime to think about when they are taught.The awareness and ability of the teachers to design the experimental program is not very strong.The teaching hardware resources between the school and the school are very different,and the hardware facilities of the common schools need to be strengthened.On the whole,the survey shows that teachers in the underdeveloped provinces of the West understanding of "Inquiry Teaching" is not accurate enough.Most teachers on the action "willing or not to implement the ‘inquiry 'teaching" is a contradictory attitude,a considerable number of teachers in the implementation of "inquiry" teaching encountered trouble.Also,the survey shows that in underdeveloped areas in Western China only a part or a small part of teachers in the development of "Inquiry Teaching",they choose "Inquiry Teaching" to carry out the chapter,mainly to consider whether they have the typical physical ideas and students' interest.Specifically for "Inquiry Teaching" the strength and coverage of the teacher training is not enough,and the training content is not operable and the training content is too theoretical.The teachers of the underdeveloped provinces of the West in the training of students' ability to explore the most is the "design experiments and development plan" and "experiment and collection of evidence" "assessment" "communication and cooperation" training at least.Some teachers believe that "inquiry based" teaching is only suitable for top students.Basic level teachers teaching tasks,many teachers of the underdeveloped provinces of the West do not take into account the inquiry based teaching.The development of "inquiry" teaching is subject to the class size and the college entrance examinationAbout students :In a manner of speaking,students overall ability to explore isnot high.Only a few of the students completed the experiment,the whole process of the experiment to reflect and evaluate the awareness and ability.The survey shows that few of them can independently develop the specific steps of the opening experiment of the teacher's arrangement.They "put forward the problem" the expression ability is insufficient.And they also lack the innovation of the question.Students have a strong sense of communication,.But the students' ability to communicate with each other is weak.And the ability of these students to work with each other is more common.In the research and exploration of students' ability of inquiry,the elements of explore array from strong to weak as follows: experiment and evidence collection,exchange and cooperation,analysis and demonstration,conjecture and hypothesis,making plan and design an experiment,ask questions,evaluation.The students who are being investigated like the experimental class,followed by exercise class.Most of them like to put their knowledge into place and teach them the methods of studying physics.In the experimental class,only a few students to complete the task of the teacher arranged on the basis of the use of laboratory conditions to do some small experiments,the vast majority of students are able to work hard to complete the task assigned by the teacher.When doing open experiments,the survey shows that the students who are being investigated most like to do is to experiment with the collection of evidence,followed by the expression of their own conjecture and assumptions".They are most likely to be confused with the "design experiment and development plan".Only a few people are full of confidence in themselves.But most people are looking forward to this kind of activity.About parent and society: There is a certain degree of social support for the teaching concept of "Inquiry Teaching",but it is not enough.The survey shows that most parents support teachers to arrange some extra research work for children,and this kind of homework takes the parents decided to take up the child's time most 10 days to 15 days(Take a semester to calculate).
