As a developing country, Chinese economic, social, and cultural development is not balanced. As an important part of a nine year consistent system of education, sports education in junior middle schools are often overlooked. And this situation in our country’s economy is relatively underdeveloped area is more serious. As the state of middle school students physical health and pay attention to the quality of physical education, school physical education more and more normative, but China backward areas of middle school physical education also need a very long time development and reform.This paper is divided into five parts, the first part is the preface, introduces the background and significance, the research methods and content. The second part, the author according to a middle school in undeveloped areas, but also their education after one year of Jiangxi province Jinggangshan middle school as an example, analyzes the present situation of the PE Teaching in the middle school. The third part, the author summarizes the present middle school sports teaching problems:one is the school for the sports teaching insufficient attention; two is the construction of teachers needs to be further improved; three is the lack of funds, it is difficult to guarantee the sports teaching facilities and equipment; four is the teaching contents and methods of old, needs to be optimized and updated; five students for the left-behind children, their own characteristics. And analyzes the causes of these problems, including the control of school sports development is not balanced; effects of localized reform; the rule of school sports reform factors etc.. The fourth part, the author puts forward improvement suggestions area junior high school physical education is relatively backward economy. One is to change the teaching idea, enhance understanding. Two is to strengthen construction of PE teachers. Three is to suit one’s measures to local conditions, improving the backward areas of sports teaching hardware facilities. Four is to improve the teaching ability of teachers, improve teaching effectiveness. Five is to strengthen leadership, through a variety of physical testing and competition, evaluation of teaching effect, comprehensive monitoring. The fifth part is the conclusion of this paper.
