Problem-based Learning is of great mean for students to construct the basic knowledge of chemistry independently,develop students' intelligence,cultivate students' cognitive thinking and cooperation ability,promote the structuralization of students' chemistry knowledge effectively,improve students' ability of exploring problems and autonomous learning,and enhance students' environmental awareness and resource consciousness and so on.It is consistent with the goal of Curriculum Reform in Elementary Education.So it has been closely watched by the majority of educators.Therefore,the thesis attempts to explore the theory of Problem-based Learning in detail and also conducts a practical research in senior chemistry teaching.At the level of theoretical research,the thesis mainly introduces the concept of problem and Problem-based Learning,introduces the basic process of Problem-based Learning in classroom teaching,summarizes the research status of Problem-based Learning at home and abroad,and expounds some relevant theoretical basis such as Constructivist Perspective and Multiple Intelligences Theory,etc.In the perspective of classroom practice,the paper selects two classes with no significant difference in chemical performance at senior high school in Kunming.One of them is the experimental class and another is a comparison.Meanwhile,the part content of compound in chemistry-one in People's Education Press is selected as teaching content.One method based on Problem-based Learning is adopted in experimental class and method based on traditional teaching mode is used in comparison.It is not difficult to find some advantages by making full use of all kinds of evaluation methods such that observes carefully in class by teacher,reflect seriously after school by student and use the form of questionnaire survey.For instance,the method based on Problem-based Learning is conducive to improving students' interest at learning aspect,enhancing students' awareness of self-learning and cooperative learning,helping students apply chemical theory knowledge to practice and making students realize the meaning of chemistry discipline in the process of solving practical problems of daily life.By comparing the chemical performance in experimental class and the comparison,the paper finds that the average score of experimental class is higher than the comparison in the targeted test for practical content by using Problem-based Learning,and is about 5.93 points.Furthermore,the average score of experimental class is also higher than the comparison,and is about 4.78 points.So Problem-based Learning is helpful to understand knowledge and improve their academic performance.By drawing the Box Plot for the chemical performance before and after the transformation of teaching method and comparing them,it is easy to find that students' achievement is more convergence after the use of Problem-based Learning teaching method.To a certain extent,Problem-based Learning teaching method can alleviate the polarization of students' chemical performance.
