The compulsory education geography curriculum standard that was issued by The Ministry of Education in 2011 pointed out that the geography curriculum is a very practical course,which contains rich practical contents,including map rendering,learning tool making,experiment,demonstration,field observation,social survey and local geography investigation.It also demands students to master the skills of simple geographical observation,geographical experiment,geographical survey and so on.This provides an important basis for the implementation of the geography experiment teaching.As a scientific and effective teaching method,the experimental teaching should be popularized.However,up to now,the research of geography experimental teaching in our country is still not mature enough.And geography experimental teaching has not been paid enough attention in China.Especially in small cities and towns,the implementation of the situation is not optimistic,the role of geography experimental teaching has not been fully played.Therefore,this study has important theoretical and practical significance.On the basis of constructivism learning theory,situated learning theory and geography learning theory,and using literature method,experimental method,questionnaire survey method and mathematical statistics analysis method and other research methods.The author has conducted the research on content and implementation of the experimental teaching in junior middle school geography textbooks which published by Hunan Education Press.First,the author read the relevant literature widely and analyzed it,and find that the current domestic scholars are mainly focus on the describes of geography experiment concept,classification of geographical experiment,geographic experiment content design and so on.However,there is a lack of systematic exposition of the teaching content of the junior high school geography experiment,and lack of empirical research on the role of geography experimental teaching.On the basis of previous research experience,the author has carried out a more in-depth study of the problem.According to the seven or eight grade geography textbooks which published by Hunan Education Press as the main research material.Classifies and summarizes the contents of the geographical experiment in the junior high school geography textbooks,and thought that the content of the textbooks and the experimental types is not rich enough,some of the experimental content is not reasonable enough,and puts forward some supplementary suggestions.Then conducted a teaching experiment for nearly a semester based on the experimental contents and experimental design in Caoxian No.1 Middle School.The Experimental results show that the experimental teaching of geography is of great help to the improvement of teaching quality.The author conducted a questionnaire survey to the students as the object in order to further verify the effect of geography experimental teaching.Through the statistical analysis of the survey data,it is found that the geography experiment teaching plays an important role in cultivating students' learning interest,improving students' observation ability,enhancing students' practical ability,activating students' thinking and improving their learning styles,and the geography experiment teaching is widely recognized by the students.In addition,on the basis of empirical research,this paper puts forward the corresponding solutions to the restrictive factors in the implementation of junior high school geography experimental teaching,such as renew the educational concept,make full use of the existing teaching sites,develop the experimental resources,develop the school-based curriculum,improve the teaching ability of geography teachers and so on.The innovation of this paper has three points.First of all,this paper classifies and summarizes the contents of the geographical experiment in the junior high school geography textbooks,and finds a small amount of unreasonable points,and puts forward some suggestions.Second,In this study,the combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis was used to verify the effect of the experimental teaching.Third,based on the analysis of the restrictive factors in the implementation of geographical experiment,this paper puts forward the countermeasures,such as developing the geography experimental teaching resources and developing geography school-based curriculum etc.
