In 1920, the foreign selected work was included into the "reference book of secondary school in vernacular" published by the Commercial Press for the first time.From then on, the foreign selected works have been chosen to the textbooks by Chinese editors, bringing the new blood to Chinese textbook of high-school. "Curriculum Standards in Ordinary Senior High School (draft)" proposed students respecting and understanding the multi-culture on the basis of self-directed learning, to cultivate them the ability to identify of Chinese and foreign literature works, in order to ensure the dominant role of students at the same time learn the essence of foreign works. Since the reception aesthetics theory was put forward, it has been continuously enriched in the process of mutual reference with other subjects. It has been applied to different subjects.In Chinese teaching, more Chinese educators are beginning to find the factors that can guide the teaching practice from the reception aesthetics. This paper combines with the practice of Chinese teaching in senior high school, and elaborates the guidance of the reception aesthetics to the foreign selected works in high school Chinese textbooks from the following four parts:In the first part, this paper explores the theoretical basis---the reception aesthetics,including the process, representative figures, and then elaborates the relevant concepts of this theory to a certain degree. For example, the German Hans Robert Jauss put forward the reader’s "previous experience" and "the expectation horizon" in his essay called"Literary History as a Challenge to Literary Theory".The theory of "summon structure"and" blank spot" was raised by Wolfgang Iser in the analysis of the psychological process of literary reading.In the second part, this paper elaborates how the theory of reception aesthetics guide the practical teaching of foreign selected works from three aspects as followed: New Curriculum Standard,the text characteristics of foreign selected works and the reading mechanism of high school students. Firstly, this paper makes a definition and overall comparison of the foreign selected work in the textbook of PEP edition. Secondly, in the perspective of the comparison between Chinese and foreign selected work in the unit teaching, this paper summarizes the particular point from the cultural background and writing skill. Finally, this paper further explains the basis of the combination of reception aesthetics: it can develop the creative teaching form of reading mechanism of high school and also develop the imagination and creative dialogue of students.In the third part, this paper summarizes the current situation of foreign selected work in senior high school from the view of reception aesthetics. Three theories of reception aesthetics are applied to this paper, they are "negation", "expectation horizon" and"summon structure",and this paper put forward some problems of foreign selected works emerged in practical teaching, such as perceptual deficiency and excessive aesthetic distance between the teacher and students, inadequate of students’ subjectivity.If the teacher teaches too much, the effect of students’ "expecting view" will be ignored,resulting the students’ less accumulation,so the "blank spot" knowledge is difficult to be added, at the same time, the process of teaching is so boring that the creative thought and imagination of students are hard to be aroused.The fourth part is focusing the difficulties above, and puts forward the corresponding tactics according to the difficulties of foreign selected work teaching in the previous chapter. For example,teachers use "directional expectation" to help students to interpret themselves, and students can contact the similarities of Chinese and foreign works,making them be familiar with these works. Among them, I also put forward my own idea called Chinese activity course.In addition, there have been many researches and practical teaching practice,applying the theory of reception aesthetics to the field of Chinese teaching, but in terms of the actual teaching situation of foreign selected work, few people associate it with reception aesthetics, and study it systematically and carefully. The innovative point of this paper is that it based on the actual teaching situation of foreign selected work in senior high school,and guided by the relevant theories of reception aesthetics. Under the tendency and situation that gives gull subjectivity and initiative of students which is required by the New Curriculum Reform, this paper fully absorbs the related theory of reception aesthetic and its value in the teaching process of comprehending and exploring the text, this paper also elaborates the actionability of teaching guided by theory. |
