The three lavws of Newton are the basis of classical mechanics.It is often difficult for students to apply Newton's laws of motioin to solving problems in real situations.Putting the question "how to pull a piece of A4 paper between two dictionaries" as the core,this article conducts the inquiry-based learning design,and put the three laws of Newton.overweight.weightlessness,and friction integrated into this inquiring activity to realize the comprehensive inquiry-based learning.This design begins with a real situational question,"how much force is required to pull the A4 paper'?" Then it raises three questions,"how to measure the friction coefficient between a dictionary and a piece of A4 paper?" "If the dictionary is put on the top,will the results change?""What is the micro-explanation of the frictional force?" Then,through changing the combination mode of the two dictionaries and the way of drawing the paper.students explore the corresponding changes of the tensile force.Next,it raises the acceleration by discussing the problems."Will the dictionary on the top be affected by friction when the A4 paper is pulled at a constant specd?" "Will the dictionary on the top be affected by friction when the A4 paper is accelerated?" At the same time,it leads to a series of questions."What is the maximum acceleration when the dictionary on the top and the A4 paper are accelerated?Under this maximum acceleration,how long does the A4 paper need to separate itself from the dictionary at the bottom?" "If the time of' pulling out the A4 paper is 0.1 seconds,what is the acceleration of A4 paper?What is the displacement of the dictionary on the top?" Participating in these activities,students can deepen their understanding of the three laws of Newton and friction,and improve their ability on integration.Finally,the teacher encourages students to make bold assumptions to explain the question "The dictionaries freely falling,why is the A4 paper pulled out in an instant'?”Students can make bold predictions based on their own assumptions.In this way.students can understand the relation between the three laws of Newton and weightlessness at a new angle,and get the feeling inspiration on physical research methods.This study differs from existing inquiry teaching design.The big differences are that:each class and each phase is set around the preliminary problem situation,exploring the system from the easy to the difficult and complicated:Through collective activities,group activities.independent activities,and group synthesis,the study activities are explored in detail and system;The materials which are chosen from life are simple,and they can be explored in daily life;It puts emphasis on experimental inquiry and deductive inference.Exploring like scientists.students deepen the understanding of the three laws of Newton.It can also raise their ability of finding problems and solving problems,and cultivate the students' enquirying mind.
