With the revision and improvement of the new curriculum standards for high school physics,the core literacy of the discipline has further guided the design and implementation of classroom teaching.The establishment of the chain mode of teaching practice of " core literacy-curriculum standard-unit design-class plan " is an effective way to implement core literacy.Big ideas have the function of " anchor point ",which can connect the complicated subject content,promote the structure of knowledge,and help students realize the function and significance of the knowledge they have learned.Unit teaching has the effect of avoiding fragmented teaching and is an effective way to promote big ideas teaching.Therefore,teachers organize unit learning content around big ideas,which helps students to establish the internal relationship between physical knowledge and deepen their understanding of physics laws and methods.In the paper,taken " how to carry out the implementation of unit teaching based on the concept of big ideas " as the main research problem,is carried out theoretical and practical research.Based on the results of a practical survey,a pathway for the design of the unit is identified.The case study is then designed and implemented in the following logic.The relevant research results of big ideas and unit teaching is summarized in the first and second chapters,and comment on the shortcomings of the research on big ideas in unit teaching design in middle school physics.In terms of conceptual definition,a conceptual definition of big concepts and unit instructional design is provided based on authoritative research theories.The suitability of big concepts for unit instructional design is pointed out.The theoretical underpinnings of constructivism,meaningful learning and reverse design perspectives on this topic are argued in relation to pedagogical theories.Teachers’ understanding and implementation of big ideas and unit teaching are investigated in the third chapter,and understands teachers’ obstacles and difficulties in implementing unit teaching design.In the fourth chapter,based on the Ub D design template,a unit teaching design framework based on big ideas is established to provide design ideas and methods for the implementation of unit teaching.The specific design cases and implementations are provided in the fifth and sixth chapters,which apply the strategies of big ideas based unit instructional design into practice.Taking "Newton’s Laws of Motion" as an example,the specific path of the unit design is explained,and the teaching process of "Newton’s First Law" and "Overweight and Weightlessness" under the unit design is demonstrated.After the implementation of the unit,students’ performance on the unit test,performance tasks,and teacher interview suggestions are analyzed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the big ideas-based unit design framework.Finally,the seventh chapter concludes with a summary,reflections,and prospects for subsequent research.In summary,through theoretical and practical research,compared with the traditional physics class teaching,the unit teaching design path based on the big ideas formed on the basis of the Ub D design template has certain advantages,which is expected to provide some teaching reference for high school physics teachers.
