Preschool teachers’ competency refers to the potential and stable psychological characteristics and behavioral characteristics of both teachers and young children during their interactions,by which we could identify outstanding preschool teachers and ordinary preschool teachers.In this research,we built a questionnaire and studied the conditions of preschool teachers by 367 validated questionnaires.First,we built the initial competency model of preschool teachers by BEI of 20 preschool teachers and collecting competency items from 92 open questionnaires.Then we tested preschool teachers by a compiled self-evaluation questionnaire and conducted the item analysis and exploratory factor analysis of 178 validated forecasts.Next,we verified the competency model of preschool teachers and the reliability and validity of the questionnaire by CFA and built the formal questionnaire.Finally,we tested 400 preschool teachers using this questionnaire and studied the conditions of preschool teachers by 367 validated questionnaires among them.The conclusions are as follows:(1)The competency model of preschool teachers includes 5 factors:organization and management,interpersonal communication,responsibility,achievement and professional knowledge.(2)The self-assessment questionnaire of preschool teachers has good reliability and validity.(3)By analyzing preschool teachers’ competency and demographic characters,we found that age and seniority had signification impact to preschool teachers,but education level and positional titles had no significant difference.
