In the light of the teaching situation, it is very necessary to improve teaching quality. The Application of Chinese Characters in the Teaching of Ancient Poetry and Prose in Middle School, which is triggered by the Chinese character’s conformation principles of the structures and law, is to detect the internal characteristics and rules. Sustained by the formational origins of Chinese characters, the original meaning of the words can be uncovered and the interrelation of form and sense be unified, students’ comprehension of words do not only focus on the notation in the textbook, but the why. This paper focus on the using value of introducing the theories of Chinese Characters to the Teaching of Ancient Poetry and Prose is helping to change the unfavorable situation of drawing wrong comprehension by the common meaning to ancient meaning; differentiating confusable words in the classical Chinese; clarifying the multiple meanings of the word in the classical Chinese; deeply understanding the interchangeable words; feeling the charm of Chinese character and absorbing the Chinese character culture.This paper has four chapters. Chapter 1 discusses the theoretical foundation. Chapter 2 reveals the practical significances of the application of Chinese Characters. Chapter 3 talks about the principles and counter-measures of the application of Chinese Characters and several points to be noticed in use. Chapter 4 is about the external guarantee to the application of Chinese Characters.
