Biology,as one of the basic subjects of nature science,reveals the laws of life activities and the mysteries of the harmony between different kinds of creatures and nature.Biology curriculum reform in middle school points out the importance of the connection between knowledge and daily life,which intends to enhance the scientific knowledge of students and at the same time improves students' abilities of using the biological knowledge to solve practical problems encountered in life.Life oriented teaching as a new teaching idea after the new curriculum reform refers to the teaching content and form of life,contacts to the students' realistic cognition closely and presents teaching content with vivid and interesting life by incorporating the familiar objects and phenomena into the new knowledge,instead of simply instilling knowledge into the students' thoughts and understandings and repeating the boring teaching.Consequently,life oriented teaching in high school biology applies the teaching model in the classroom teaching.According to the characteristics and teaching content of high school biology,teachers combine them with the actual life of students together and introduce the related biological knowledge in life.Therefore,what the students get is the vivid subject knowledge.This kind of teaching mode is beneficial for students to master the knowledge,transfer them and solve the biological problems encountered in daily life innovatively.In order to understand and explore the current situation and teaching effect of life oriented teaching in grassroots high school biology classroom,the author carried out a teaching practice research on life oriented teaching of the first semester from 2016 to 2017,in Wuxiang middle school,Changzhi city,Shanxi province.140 questionnaires were distributed to students from three classes.At the last,137 questionnaires were collected and 135 of themwere valid.The recovery rate was 97.9% and the effective rate reached to96.4%.It is found that,first,attentions to the high school biology curriculum was not enough,which leads to the lack of enthusiasm for students to learn biology and the awareness of paying attention to the biological knowledge in life.Moreover,cramming education still plays the main role in high school biology classroom.As a result,the interaction between teachers and students was unsatisfactory,the classroom atmosphere was dull,and learning efficiency was not optimistic.Last but not least,teachers lack guidance for students' self-exploration and the abilities of connecting knowledge with daily life,which leads to the lack of abilities to solve practical problems and makes it difficult to form biological accomplishment for students.Given the above situations,the author attempts to implement the life oriented teaching in the senior high school for one semester.It tries to develop students' abilities of putting what they have learnt into practice,enhance the students' learning motivation,help them develop learning habits,cultivate scientific accomplishment and infiltrate moral education.In addition,it is helpful for students to achieve the knowledge and ability goals and at the same time form correct emotional attitude and values.At the end of the semester,the survey shows that more than half of the students are interested in the teaching method.The classroom atmosphere is more enthusiastic.The effect of interaction between teacher and student gets better and students become more interested in biology.All the above reflects the feasibility and necessity of carrying out “life oriented” teaching in biology classroom in middle school.
