The elementary education has great influence on the whole life of students; as a result, the public pay much attention to the homework burden of primary school students.There are many researches about academic burden, but there are only a few studies about academic burden of senior-grades students in rural primary schools. My study takes two rural primary schools in Jinmen, Hubei province as examples, and uses questionnaire survey and interview as the methods of research.The first chapter is the introduction, which includes the reasons why I choose this topic, literature review and the significance of this study, and definite three core words: senior-grades students in primary schools, academic burden and rural area.The second chapter is the theoretical basis of this study. The main theoretical bases of the research are as follows:the theory of Five Liberation, Quality Education, and Theory of Motivation. In this part, introduce the main idea of each theoretical basis and the revelation that each theoretical basis provides.The third chapter is about the design of the study, which includes the object, the methods and the procedure of the study.The fourth chapter is about investigation and analysis of the research. At first, it mainly analyses the current situation of senior students in rural primary schools from two aspects: in school and outside school, and then study the problems of academic burden. At last, I analyze the causes from four aspects:students themselves, parents, schools and society.The fifth chapter is about putting forward the counter-measures to relieve the academic burden of senior-grades students in primary schools.At the end of this paper, I draw a conclusion, which generally concludes the research, and analyzes the weaknesses of it.
