Education needs to keep up with the development of the society. It is an inevitable trend that students should have been lightened their academic over-burden to have more free time to develop their full talents.The author conducts a survey respectively among 1000 students and their parents. 800 teachers as well as 300 headmasters in primary and secondary schools in Suzhou region to get the information about the present students" academic burden. Based on these statistics, the author concludes that the present students" academic burden is much too heavier for primary and secondary school students, while on the other hand, the other burdens which a student should take, such as gaining the ability of living, are on the light side. That is detrimental to the healthy growth of a young student. Furthermore, based on the scientific analysis of the causes of this phenomenon from both the society and the education, and on the study of the popular educational practice in foreign countries, the author puts forward several corresponding ways to ease the problem and to improve the present educational environment. |
