The 21st century is a stage for the Internet. The Internet has witnessed a rapid development in China since the middle of 1990s, when the domestic Internet was integrated with the international Internet. As a result, the number of users is increasing at a very fast speed every year. Nowadays, China is the largest country using Internet, even compared with the EU and the US. Due to the daily life convenience brought by the Internet, it makes more smooth communication and tighter relationship among people, and people get used to using the Internet more often. Unfortunately, the disadvantages of the Internet show up while it is becoming more and more popular. There are so many examples for the cybersex, the Internet kuso, the malware, the fake news and the malicious hype, disturbing people's life. As an important user group, the college student is influenced by these problems since they face this bad phenomenon all the time. When facing the bad information shock from cyberspace, the network literacy status of college students is the key point to determine whether they can calm down, distinguish wrong actions and handle with it easily. The network literacy status is determined by the situation of network literacy education for the college student in China. As a result, the network literacy education for college students is very important.Base on the background mentioned above, this paper makes a survey of network literacy status among some of college students in Chengdu. It adopts the literature methodology and the survey methodology and has an analysis on the statistical data. We want to know about the recent network literacy situation of college students and have an analysis on the problems in the education. In the end, we have countermeasures towards these problems to promote the network literacy level of college students.This paper has five parts to discuss the network literacy and the education. The first part is the introduction, including the research background, the motivation, the significance, the methodology, the highlight point and the defect. The second part includes explanations on relevant theories and important definitions (network literacy, college student network literacy education), which is a theoretical base for further analysis and explanation. The third part is a survey about the recent situation of college student network literacy in Chengdu. We have an analysis on the recent situation, illustrating the deficiency of the education and reasoning the cause behind the phenomenon. The forth part concentrates on the countermeasure, based on the survey. The analysis comes from views of the society, the college and the student itself. The last part is a conclusion of the whole research.
