There are some problems in nowaday's children's art teaching such as "little adults' painting" in exhibitions, excessive "copy paintings", grade competition, overzealous pursuit of utilitarian and neglect in cultivating students' artistic capabilities in teaching activities. This paper holds that children's painting should be a spontaneous expression of what they feel inside and should be the purest, the most vivid and creative form of painting."Nature-oriented" teaching method aims to lead art teaching back to life and enable students to realize their self-development in a free, brisk and relaxing environment. It from the angle of children's education delves deeper into content of truth, benevolence and beauty in art teaching and enables students to be exposed to the "nature-oriented" teaching method putting teachers, students in a natural and harmonious class environment hospitable to students' physical and mental development and helpful in nurturing the most genuine and natural state in class. It helps introduce the concept of "nature-oriented" to children's art teaching and revert children's forms of painting to the original state.The paper, with the help of theories in psychology, education and art, takes into consideration of children's mental, psychological development and their mindset, uses children at the age of 6-9 as example combining art teaching practice to champion the cause of building a nature-oriented teaching method conductive to children's development.
