Basic Chemistry plays an important and even irreplaceable role in the curriculum system of Medicine and Chemical Engineering.But the present teaching methods can't motivate the students to learn the related course well,which will not guarantee the validity and efficiency of students' learning the course and the other subsequent specialized courses.So the need of teaching reform is becoming aboslutely critical.Problems of Basic Chemistry in teaching are mainly as follows.The teaching materials are not so targeted at our students;Teachers can't use the new teaching methods freely and skillfully;The roles of the teachers are oriented as knowledge imparters,which stresses on lecturing and students are passive learners in and out of class.In view of the problems above,the teaching reform in Basic Chemistry should be carried out in the following three main directions.Firstly,teachers will add or delete the teaching materials reasonably.Secondly,the project teaching method will be used in teaching.Finally teachers will evaluate students' marks in a scientific and reasonable way.It has been proved that due to the project teaching,students' learning enthusiasm has been improved,and learning is more effective than before.Project teaching can effectively guarantee the students' subjectivity and teachers' leading position,which is more in line with the requirements of our teaching.Intergroup competition and cooperation with the group members have effectively promoted the good development of students in many aspects.
