A Study On The Application Of New Media In College Students’ Rule Of Law Education

“Promoting the process of governance according to law fully” is included into the strategic blueprint of “ Four Comprehensives” in the Fourth Plenary Session of the18 th Central Committee of the Communist Party, requiring to launch the legal publicity and education deeply, and putting rule of law education into the national education system to establish the realization of rule of law in the whole society. As the builders and successors of the socialist modernization, college students’ legal concept and legal literacy is directly related to the process of building the Socialist System of Laws with Chinese Characteristics, so the college students’ rule of law education must be strengthened. With the development of the global internet information technology,new media brings new opportunities and challenges to the college students’ rule of law education. Contemporary college students are the the main people active in the new media platforms, whose way of thinking and behavior is influenced deeply by new media, so studying the use of new media in the college law-related has important theoretical and practical significance, to promote rule of law education for college students and college ideological and political education.With the help of literature and questionnaires, the impact of new media is analyzed on education and college students’ cognitive and behavioral aspects, also status quo of new media used in the college students’ law-related education is studied.As the modern carrier and platform of college students’ rule of law education, on the one hand, new media has college students’ rule of law education, information, internet and host-guest relations been further improved; on the other hand, new media brings new challenges to college students’ rule of law education for its openness,multidirection, virtuality, and interactivity. After exploring thoroughly the cause of existing problem of new media using in the college students’ rule of law education,there are some aspects to be dealt with for all kinds of new media playing a role fully on the college students’ rule of law education, such as strengthening the construction of college new media, building a new platform for college students’ education,integrating new media with the traditional rule of law education, strengthening college media regulation, and constructing the security system of using new media.Under the new historical conditions, we must continue to enhance the awarenessand the ability to use new media, and actively build a new platform for college students’ rule of law education by new media. This research has realistic significance on improving the carrier of ideological and political education, and effectiveness of strengthening college students’ rule of law education, hopefully providing a useful reference for many ideological and political education workers.
