In the modern society, with the ever-changing information technology, mass media as an important source of social information is developing and spreading at tremendous speed. A large number of mediated information has become the most important channel for students to gain information.At the same time, media information with different of ideology, is changing the ideas, behaviors,psychological state and sense of values of students, affecting the spiritual and cultural life of students and ideological and moral education in different ways.Media has become an important factor for students to establish values and world view. Therefore, the rational understanding of media and identifying media information,understanding the media information and its impact, positive using of media to promote their development and progress have become a natural choice to the information age and an important issue for contemporary higher education.Media literacy education aroused in the 1930s,after nearly eight years of development, Media literacy has become a mature theoretical framework and practical system in western countries.At the same time media literacy education has been integrated into all stages from primary school to university into the curriculum system. However, media literacy education of college students in China started relatively late.So far, media literacy education is still in theory of the exploratory stage,and the importance of media literacy education has not caused widespread awareness of the society, including college students.Therefore,college students'media literacy education as the right to constructing academic discourse actively, indigenous college students' media literacy education study is the ongoing urgent need for media literacy education.Survey is the basis of empirical research. The article investigate media literacy status from five dimensions:media exposure and use of college students,media knowledge, media awareness,media ethics and media capabilities The survey measure college students'media literacy in order to provide evidence for media literacy education strategy.The results showed that the overall level of students media literacy is not high, is still in the spontaneous,blind state,media literacy comprehensive capacity needs to be improved.The research combined by speculative and empirical research methods, combined with education, psychology and the theory of ideological and political education, propose the logical order of question,analyze and solve the problem,around the main content, discuss from the following three aspects.Firstly, the oretical basis for media literacy education, which is the basic point of full argument. Article interprets the meaning of the media literacy of college students and media literacy education based on summary to media literacy, media literacy concepts;Reveals progress and the lack of practice about media literacy of college students and media literacy education, Provides basic theoretical support for the localization of the construct of media literacy education.Secondly, the survey of media literacy and media education, which is the basis for the article.The article surveys and summarizes the status of media literacy of college students (universities in Anhui Province as an example) from the five dimensions of media literacy of college students,advances the importance and urgency of starting media literacy education of college students.At the same time, according to current situation of media literacy education of college students,analyze the reasons on lacking of the practice of media literacy educationThirdly, recommend to media literacy education of college students, this is the results of research. This paper, aiming at the lack of media literacy education of college students,combined with the status of media literacy of college students, draw on successful models of media literacy education at home and abroad, think and make recommendations to carry out localized on media literacy education of college students.The author believes that effective media literacy education of college students can not be separated from the basic theory of localization, the correct positioning of educational philosophy, positive thinking about main building, scientific design on educational content, effective exploration of educational approach, scientific construction of discipline and thinking about teaching. Building the community education system actively, strengthening the discipline system is the foundation to improve media literacy education of college students.
