Media internship means that a "quasi-journalist" participates in the news covering, writing, editing and reviewing works under the guidance of media teachers within a time limit according to the practical plan of the school, in order to improve the theoretical knowledge of news and business operation capabilities, learn to apply the professional knowledge to solve practical issues, and have the ability of independently accomplishing relevant works. Media internship is an inevitable method for journalism students to master the vocational skills, which can help students get through the conception and governor vessels of the theoretical knowledge and practical operation, and grasp the "18 martial arts of" news covering, writing, editing and reviewing; media internship is an integral part of practical teaching of news in colleges and universities as well as a "touchstone" to visually inspect the teaching achievements of news practice, which can promote the news education to better "make up the deficiencies"; media internship may bring new ideas, new concepts, rich and diverse media culture to the news unit; media internship is a vital channel for the news unit to tap and train talents, which can assist the media to enrich the talent reserve, discover excellent talents, and promote the rapid and good development of the journalism. In summary, media internship is the link and bridge between journalism education and journalism, playing a pivotal role in promoting the development of students, boosting the prosperity of journalism education, and improving the news industry.This paper comprehensively adopts the questionnaires and interviews, selects the journalism students from ten universities in Hunan Province and journalists from five mainstream medias as the research objects, respectively issues 480 and 140 questionnaires, takes a certain number of samples from universities and the media, and conducts a systematic analysis and summary of the media internship conditions of college journalism students.Overall, this paper consists of four chapters. The first chapter is introduction, introducing the research background, significance, domestic and overseas research conditions, research ideas and research methods. This chapter is the questionnaire design, including the preparation, issuance and recycling of questionnaires as well as the interviews of students, college teachers and media personnel who participate in the questionnaire. The second chapter is data analysis. The third chapter is the influencing factors. The fourth chapter is countermeasures and suggestions.After recycling the questionnaire, the author first uses icrosoft Office Excel 2007 for data aggregation, then uses SPSS 16.0 to make a statistical analysis of the questionnaire data, combines with many interview data, analyzes and obtains the media internship conditions of college journalism student, which are reflected in the following eight areas:students have poor practical abilities, receive poor internship gains, the college internships are not well arranged, the news journalism education is apart from practice, the media internship management lags, the internship assessment is like "a chicken rib", the media internship system is insufficient, and it is difficult to protect the rights and interests of internship. The author analyzes and summarizes the factors affecting the media internship conditions of college journalism students respectively from the micro (the factor of students themselves), meso (the factor of universities and media) and macro (policy institutional factors) levels, analyzed and summarized the factors affecting the internship conditions of media students. The author proposes targeted countermeasures and suggestions from six aspects, including enhancing the comprehensive qualities of students, improving the college internship mechanism, reforming the traditional journalism education, strengthening the media internship management, launching the media internship system and safeguarding the internship interests of students.
