Abstract/Summary:
At the Ideological and Political Work Conference in Higher Education in 2016,Xi Jinping stressed that,“establishing high moral values and rearing people”should be the central part and the ideological and political work should go through the whole educational process.Basically speaking,it is the work of cultivating people,which must be students-centered.By raising their ideological levels,political consciousness,moral qualities,and cultural appreciation,students are able to develop in an all-round way with both integrity and ability.Accounting for a great majority in China’s teenager population,leftover children in rural areas are significant in fulfilling the Chinese dream.However,some of them are short of ideals,moral education,interest for learning,and respect for rules,which runs counter to the idea of“establishing high moral values and rearing people”.Facing up to their moral issues and exploring solutions concerns not only the quality of rural population,but also the future development of our nation.Therefore,it is of enormous significance to pay close attention to the moral issues of leftover children in rural areas in the sustainable development of rural society,urban-rural integration development,construction of harmonious society,and realization of the Chinese dream.In recent years,the moral issues of leftover children in rural areas has received extensive attention from society and systematic researches by many scholars.However,it has been a bottleneck in dealing with the issues that detailed and pointed measures cannot be raised based on realities in various areas due to special and complex reasons.With the research method of questionnaire survey,this paper,based on the multivariate stratified sampling,contains five parts.The first part is the introduction,which tells the background information,research significance,and literature review based on the existing domestic and foreign researches.The second part illustrates what is moral education for children and brings in the related theories used in this paper,paving the way for further study and discussion.The third part,by analyzing the present moral education for left-behind children in six schools in M county of Shanxi provinces,collects data of the present moral building and finds out the current problems of left-behind children there through questionnaire survey.The problems include lackingof moral awareness,moral imbalance,weak moral will,and moral misconduct.Next,the paper gives out causes of the problem from perspectives of family,school,society and government after analyzing the moral education of the left-behind children.The last part puts forward corresponding countermeasures,promotes the endeavor by combing family,the school,the society and the government work into one,and helps these children work with rightful moral thoughts,moral feelings and good moral behaviors.
