In the later half of 20th century,ecological literature gradually emerged in American literary circle and became a significant field as a result of its detailed description of nature and exploration of the relationship between human and nature.Ecological literature appeals to citizens to care for nature and protect the environment and makes a great contribution to the progress of American environmental causes.While human life is continuously improved and benefited by the the rapid-developed technology and industry,the industrialization causes lots of severe disaster,like environmental pollution and ecological degradation,to nature.Since 21th century,China has also been devoting to solve these sorts of environmental crisis.In this mean time,environmental literature has become more and more valuable.Therefore,it is necessary to introduce environmental literature to China,which is positive and helpful for the development of Chinese environmental causes.This report selects the second chapter of John Muir's Our National Parks as the subject of translation,which mainly introduces the location,history and wonderful scenery of Yellowstone National Park.In this chapter,the writer particularly describes the imposing mountains,luxuriant forests,torrent rivers and varieties of hot springs and geysers.John Muir was a American famous ecological writer.This report takes "the translations of ecological literature texts" as its theme.With the guidance of Newmark's theory of text typology,this report mainly discusses the linguistic features and translation strategies of the ecological literature texts.This report is divided into four chapter.The first chapter is a description of this whole translation task,which includes the background and value of this task and the criteria of translation.The second chapter mainly introduces the preparation before translation,the theoretical basis of the paper and the specific procedure of this translation.The third chapter is the analysis of the strategies applied in the translation of ecological texts from lexical level and syntactic level.The last chapter is the author's summery of the whole translation procedure.
