Xiangzhou And The Politics Of Jin Dynasties

Since the Wei and Jin Dynasties,the state has been established and changed,in this context the formation of Xiangzhou,has a distinctive characteristic of the times,the twist development process also highlights the turbulent situation during this period.In this paper,Xiangzhou,which is formed in the Jin Dynasties,is a research object.From the perspective of the interaction between the central and local governments,this paper examines the development process of Xiangzhou in the period which involves the central government’s management to Xiangzhou,and the interaction of Xiangzhou for the central government.Xiangzhou ’s geographical and cultural environment is one of the important factors affecting the development of Xiangzhou.Xiangzhou adjacent to many areas,had excellent geographical location.But limited by terrain and road traffic,it is difficult for Xiangzhou to contact with other areas.The contact between Xiangzhou,the Central Plains and the northern region mainly relies on Jingzhou and the Yangtze River.This also restricts the development of Xiangzhou to a certain extent.Since ancient times,Xiangzhou is a wild land,there are many barbarians living in the land.Since the Qin and Han Dynasties,the population of the Central Plains has moved in a large way,changing the ethnic composition of Xiangzhou,the population has also gained rapid growth,providing labor for economic progress.Xiangzhou was established in the period of Yongjia in the reign of Huidi Emperor of the Western Jin Dynasty,which was the year in A.D.307,originally the southern region of Jingzhou.After the establishment of Xiangzhou,it experienced a tortuous development process in the Jin Dynasty.On the basis of clarifying the administrative evolution of Xiangzhou,clarifies the change of Jun of Xiangzhou in the Jin Dynasty.After the establishment,it formed an administrative level for Martial areas-Zhou-Jun-Xian,different layers of administrative system play a different impact on the development of Xiangzhou.The Political Development of Xiangzhou in the Jin Dynasties,this paper is mainly through the study of Xiangzhou local magistrate’s office and its governance situation to show.This paper mainly sorts out the situation of the local governor after the establishment of Xiangzhou.Due to the short establishment,there were only eight people who were the governor of Xiangzhou,as for the influence on Xiangzhou,they were far less than the governor,marshal of Jingzhou.The development of Xiangzhou in the Jin Dynasties was greatly influenced by the central political situation,most turmoils were happened during the period of central chaos.Serious turmoils of Xiangzhou is refugee uprisings led by Zhang Chang and Du Tao.Over the late age of the Eastern Jin Dynasty,Lu Xun and Huan Liang revolted one after another in Xiangzhou.But during the process of settling the rebellion,expect the governor of Xiangzhou,the governor and marshal of Jingzhou were also important military support.In addition to the relationship between local and central relations,the geographical factors are also the focus of the study.In particular,after the Jin Dynasty moved eastward,the ruling area was mostly concentrated in the vast southern areas.Jing-Yang dispute became the main struggle in the Eastern Jin Dynasty.Xiangzhou was involved in the Jing-Yang dispute,influenced by Jiankang government and Jingzhou.From the "Kong Nan Fu" to "defense Jingzhou",the role of Xiangzhou showed different characteristics in different periods.The policy of the Jin government to management Xiangzhou,more or less inherits by the Southern Dynasties.
