Research On Naming Motivation Of Tree In Shuowen

Name research is a major aspect of the traditional study of exegesis.According to the early narrow definition of the name,the name of animals and plants is the main object of the study of names.Therefore,the source of finding the name of tree has always been an important part of linguistic research.Most of the names of trees are traceable and active.Many ancient texts involve reflections on the origin of names of trees,which provide valuable information and clues for us to explore the rationale of names of trees."Shuowen· Mu Bu" contains relatively comprehensive names of trees and is also a large word field.Most names of trees are relatively stable in the history of vocabulary development and contain a large number of linguistic phenomena.In view of this,56 tree names in Shuowen ·Wenmu were selected for this study.Based on the research of predecessors,this paper uses the theory of modern linguistics and draws on the traditional theory of exegesis and theory of reasoning to explore the names of trees,summarizing the types of reasoning,analyzing the naming rules,and understanding the ancestors’ thinking characteristics.This article is divided into five parts.The first part is introduction.This section briefly describes the purpose of this selected topic,research content,research value and its significance and research methods.In addition,summarizing the theoretical research at home and abroad and the relevant researches on tree name are included.The second part defines the range of words in "Shuowen· Mu Bu",and makes a classification on them.56 tree names of "Shuowen · Mu Bu" are selected as research objects.And according to the categories of tree names in the ancient literature,this paper makes the classification based on the various application of tree.The third part is the exploration and analysis of the theoretical basis of fish nomenclature in "Shuowen ".First of all,the method of naming analysis and the phonetic and semantic standards of homologous words are explained.This paper analyzes the rationale of 56 tree names systematically and uses the analysis method proposed by Mr.Wang Ning to further reveal the etymological significance of tree names and to seek a more reasonable exploration of the basis of the names of tree names accuracy.The fourth part,the department said,tree name according to type and naming rules,characteristics.The main names of tree names are metaphorical association and metonymic association.Metonymy is named to part mainly refers to the whole.The external shape of wood is the first and foremost aspect of the ancestors,so most of the wood’s nomenclature comes from the appearance of tree.Metonymy Metaphor naming is the main part of the overall transfer.In the name of tree,metaphor association and metonymy association these two ways have mutual cross-fertilization of each other.Finally,using the relevant theories of cognitive linguistics,this paper summarizes the main features of the naming of the tree name: analogy associativity,intuitive figurativeness,characteristic highlighting empiricism.The fifth part: conclusion.Summarize the research contents and achievements of the dissertation,and point out the inadequacy of the dissertation.
