Study On X Zu Of Annual New Words From 2006 To 2014

New words are not only the record of social life,but also the reflection of development and variety of the vocabulary.The words X zu describe various people of new period,and from these words we can know the change of people’s lifestyle and attitude to life.The generation of a large number of X zu reflects the change of the formation of Chinese words.From the study of these words,we can understand the generation regular of X zu to standardize the use of language and we can also have a comprehensive understanding of the society especially the development and change of the life of people.This article is based on 273 X zu which are from the book called Chinese new words(from 2006 to 2014)mainly edited by Zhou Jian and Hou Min.We study these words from the perspective of lexicology,sociolinguistics and so on.The article has five parts.Part one introduces the topic selection basis,topic significance,the research object as well as the content,the target,the methods of our research.It also talks about the current state of research about new words,annual new words and X zu.Part two investigates the 273 X zu from the linguistic point of view.It talks about the nature of "zu" and the syllable,source,structure of " X".It also introduces the meaning and the grammatical functions of X zu.Part three discusses the usage of X zu and analyses the reasons of disappearance or remain of these words.At last,we predict the future development trend of X zu.Part four mainly discusses the reasons of X zu’s production and its specification.This paper argues that the production of X zu is the result of the internal and external causes of the language,and to standardize X zu we should adhere to the principle of conventional usage,necessity and definiteness.Part five introduces some related questions of X yi zu,including syllable,structure of " X",the meaning and grammatical function of X yi zu and so on.By comparing X zu and X yi zu,we find that,unlike the previous scholars pointed out that the X yi zu words can not add the "one" in front of them and the "men" after them,these two kinds of usage in the author’s collection of data have emerged.X zu and X yi zu,in addition to the difference on "X" in the syllable,its structure,source and the grammatical function of the two are the same.Based on the above research,we hold this view: "zu" in X zu is an affix and keeps empty in the process;the number of "X" syllables are diversified,but most are double syllable;"X" have a wide range of sources,and its structure is diverse;the grammatical function of X zu is same to the general nouns;and the the meaning is diverse too.Only a few of X zu in the book Chinese new words will survive,most of them have tended to disappear or have disappeared.The factors that lead to retention or disappearance may include whether the form is filled in the blanks,whether the words are universal,whether the meaning is clear,the form is simple,and the level of public concern.As the word form,X zu will continue to exist in Chinese.
