A Comparative Study Of Thai And Chinese Buzzwords

Language is the major tool of communication which is one of the key factors of our human developmental process.As society progresses and the rapid development of society,languages are always changing with social life.A specific social languages which called “Buzzwords” could be emerged all the time owing to the development of the social environment.Buzzwords have become an indispensable part of our daily life.They are not only essentially a means of communication among the members of a society especially by the young generation,but also truly reflect social issues in the current society,custom and human feeling of that time.In recent years,a lot of new buzzwords of each country have been coined,Thai and Chinese buzzwords are no exception as well.As it can be seen from a large number of buzzwords which are continually increased and widely used.Through these Thai and Chinese buzzwords,we can deeply understand the analyzing characteristics of Thai and Chinese buzzwords in forms,semantic features and pragmatic features.Furthermore,we can also understand the unique characteristics of Thai and Chinese culture.This paper will focus on the comparative study of Thai which is my native language and Chinese buzzwords.The research data in this paper mainly comes from Matichon's Dictionary of buzzwords,Chinese 2014 Year Buzzwords Dictionary and also including a few buzzwords that have been involved in social media.The research will analyze the word formation,characteristics as well as the causes of the buzzwords appearance in Thai and Chinese so that learners can comprehend the similarities and differences of Thai and Chinese buzzwords.I hope this paper will be useful for language learners.As a result,they can have a better understanding of Thai and Chinese buzzwords,in addition,can use these buzzwords express themselves correctly and properly.
